Just $1099! | Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 Review

Reviewing the Tecno Phantom V Fold 2, a fresh foldable phone rivalling Google's Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Samsung's latest bendy mobile. I've been testing the Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 for a week now, from the camera tech and gaming chops to the battery life. So here's more on one of the latest folding phones of 2024!

This flexible wonder is up against stiff competition in the Honor Magic, OnePlus Open etc but the Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 holds its own for performance and general specs. Gaming with that beefy Dimensity chipset is a smooth enough experience. However, battery life was quite poor this past week, despite the size of the cell stuffed inside of here.

The Tecno Phantom V Fold 2 serves up a crisp, colourful pair of LTPO screens with eye care support. You've also got a meaty set of stereo speakers. And that camera setup is good enough to shoot eye pleasing natural pics most times of the day.

Glad to have foldables that are closer to 1.1k rather than the ridiculous 1.9/2k.
If I'm paying a grand I expect the best. This is tech not fashion, the name doesn't carry the same extra expense appeal like LV or Dior. It needs to have the stuff to back up the price.

Hopefully we start getting budget midrange foldables with focus on performance, software experience and battery life for those who are not too focused on having the best cameras ever in a smartphone. The price of entry is still steep but for 1k ish pricing the tecno is tempting especially with stylus support

i hate inisde camera cutout being visible when using the phone in landscape. why the heck they dont put it at the edge of the frame.

I have the original Phantom fold since Jan, performance and durabilty is fine, but 0 software support. Still stuck on Android 13 with no road map for 14.

I kind of feel like I will be waiting quite a long time this year for a fold phone to impress me as an owner of the Honor Magic But we will see there are definitely areas that Honor could have improved or done differently so we will see what the future holds.
