Join us for my Gym Chat with Logan Christopher as we explore physical culture and the connection between physical and mental strength.

Logan has been called a physical culture renaissance man for his work in training like an old-time strongman, bodyweight skills, kettlebells and more. Being born without genetic gifts for strength he sought out the best training information which led him into mental training and sports psychology which he has explored in depth.

Also check out his Feats Of Strength Index:

He's compiled a list of Old Time Strongmen to check out here as well:

Finally, check out his popular book about how to get REALLY STRONG while still staying small (based on the old-time strongman training principles):

Gaining weight makes you stronger within a certain proportion.  You can read the medical books.

Cheers guys, great conversation.  Particularly the 'demonstration of strength' part - very well said.

Question : Logan Christopher, you mentioned that there were still a couple of circuses going around which included strongman performances. I love seeing shows like those - any you'd recommend?

I see you use Powerblocks. Do you recommend them or do they have any negative points?

Also, do you have a fail solution with your tricep exercise? I have used dumbbells as it is easier to get to a shoulder, but my rep ranges have become cardio. I want to switch to the bar but, without a training partner, it is always best to have a plan F (Fuck, I've failed, what do I do now?)
