It is never a bad idea to have emergency supplies, instead of last minute panic buying. Best way to be prepared is to actually stay informed.

My years of Canadian military service, 1967-96. Third generation of my family to serve. Both traditional governing parties, post WW2 diminished Canada’s military. By 1) refusing to upgrade military equipment in a timely manner; 2) refusing to fix a broken military procurement system; 3) reducing the size of Canada’s military & 4) treating veterans poorly. Further, the Canadian voter has never made the status of Canada’s military a voting priority. Further still, both traditional governing parties refuse their leadership role in educating the Canadian voter in the connections between trade alliances with America & Europe & NATO & NORAD. Trump & Europe need to educate Canada… Now.

Canada military has been crying for more updated equipment for decades but all governments in the past and present would rather rely on Americans to protect Canadians

This guy is wrong on so many things it isn't funny. Canadians should be told to prepare for a grid down event lasting at least month. There is no civil defence preparation anywhere in Canada. Our military has stated that they only have enough ammo for a couple of days of full scale fighting and they have no reserve equipment.

I served for 25 yrs and I would not hesitate for a second to do my part in what ever capacity they needed me. and I know a lot of brothers in arms with years of experience would also answer the call….

As a former CAF member, I can say as a nation our land size, we would would be in real trouble defending our nation, without help. For example the California National Guard has 24k members. The US Marine Corp Reserve has 32K members, Canada's regular force is 68k and our reserve is 27k, for a total less than 100k. And that's not combat strength that's total. Our nation has had a habit for ever of, wait for a war and then build, that does not work in todays world, we don't have 3 months to build an Army in the event of a war.
