Evolution of the Internet!

The internet works through a massive global network of optical fiber cables. In this animation, you can see how data typically flows between the different levels of internet service providers in the modern internet. The optical fiber cables carry signals in the form of light. However, your laptop or mobile phone processes electrical signals. So how does this conversion of light to electrical signals happen? And more importantly, why is the internet structured the way it is today?

Some problems:
1:07 : As far as I know most telephone lines uses unshielded twisted pair cable instead of coaxial cable
3:56 : Most of ethernet cables are unshielded twisted pair, not shielded twisted pair, if wikipedia was right, they designed the ethernet standard to work on unshielded twisted pair because they are widely installed as telephone wire

I think you mixed up “bit” versus “byte” when you were discussing speed

He's trying his best to sound like a text to speech program

But text to speech can usually pronounce "Ethernet" correctly...

3:28 The laptop is connected to the WAN port. which means the router would not connect outbound, and you would never get an IP from the router.

Very interesting. It just mind blowing we're talking as slow as bit signals, while the video is are passing through in the hundreds of megabytes.

This video should be titled *Structure of modern INTERNET*

Thank you so much for all your amazing videos. These are the most comprehensive animations anywhere that breaks it down very similar to real life

Pretty interesting as always, though I got a bit distracted at some point...

A lot of details which are expected are missing. These points would have made the video "Learn Engineering" video:
1. A brief explanation about who is a Tier 1/2/3 provider
2. Some mention of undersea cables, network hubs and their role in the transmission
The animations were spectacular and help us imagine vividly. All the above terms I mentioned are actually present in your animation. Maybe discuss in a future video :)

I loved the animation, the speed was also right, as it is evolution of Ethernet, a little more elaborated talk on twisted pair cable, coaxial and optical fiber was required, thanks for the video

You should add a correction for Gigabit vs Gigabyte.

Vastly different speeds.

Sorry but I was researching for my project about "the evolution of the internet" and I come by up this video. I was hyped since it was only around 5min but the whole video was just unreliable. I was perplexed as heck, I thought for a second that I misclicked or something but the title literally SAYS "EVOLUTION OF THE INTERNET!!"
Bruv, I don't need more info on packets.
Literally wasted time where I could be finished with one paragraph😂

Sorry if I wrote a bit too much:)

You need to mention something important in the video:
A server able to both reccive and transmitt light signals while a client only able to reccice light signals with the using of the convertion device mentioned in the video(ont).

Due to this reason upload speed is way slower than download speed!
