Good list. But honorable mentions should include the Seattle Asian Art Museum, Kubota Gardens, Seward Park, & a stroll around UW Campus/U-Village. Also…no Chinatown/ID reference is CRAZY.

I honestly don’t want to bring anyone down, but if you’re in Seattle for any amount of time you might run into some issues. I arrived in Seattle and my new home on September 1st, 1994. It was the most stunning and beautiful city I’ve ever been to. I told an out of state friend that it was like being on vacation 365 days a year. It was a smallish town with all the amenities of a big city. I was at Microsoft in Redmond and lived life to its fullest raising three children. Seattle has changed horribly. Crime, widespread drug abuse, human trafficking, trashed parks, and home prices that no one can reasonably afford. It all happened, for the most part, after pot was legalised. It started in the outskirts and moved inland. Now 3rd and Pike is an open air fentanyl market. Many businesses that once operated in Belltown and Westlake are closed. It’s so, so sad, and I could go on all day. It brings tears to my eyes as I recall seeing this incredible city’s downhill decent into a town I wouldn’t walk around without a sidearm. Please visit, but keep your head on a swivel, and if you plan to live in Seattle proper be ready to spend seven figures. God bless Seattle.
