I love the Meters and dig Dr. John as well so seeing him was a plus. I forever called him Mac rebonak(sp?) because he was introduced by his full name during the Last Waltz. Later on I got hip to Nola funk by looking for him and discovered these guys in the process. I still keep both on constant rotation in my playlist.

The Meters are the unsung heroes of funk. Clearly have been influential for 40 years. Jungle Boogie by EWF is really a sped up Jungle man for example.

I’m so glad these videos exist. Art Neville and Mac have passed away, sadly. Have been privileged and blessed to know all of these talented musicians and wonderful people. George, Leo, Zig and Cyril still going strong. The're all a big part of New Orleans musical history. Love❤❤❤
