The Pierced Heart and the Heart of Darkness 💘 The Pierced Heart was a lonely thing, wandering in the dark. It had too many feelings, and it couldn't cope with them. It was drawn to the underworld, where it thought it would find some solace in the shadows, some relief from its agony. But it only found more misery, and more danger. The Pierced Heart lived in fear of the Heart of Darkness, its eternal enemy. The Heart of Darkness was a tyrant, a slayer of light. It hunted the souls of the miserable, the hopeless, the desperate. It wanted to snuff out the Pierced Heart, to make it a part of its own Darkness. The two hearts were locked in a twisted dance, a cycle of devouring. They ate each other whole, trying to fill the emptiness inside them. But they never did, for they were always reborn, always hungry. They suffered, and will suffer, for ever and ever.
