Had mine for 3 months now and I love it, super comfy and refined, great tech, powerful and smooth. The fixation with the lack of an instrument binnacle absolutely baffles me?! The speedo sits in your peripheral vision and it’s no different to glance left than it is to glance down. Voice commands allow you to control pretty much everything that isn’t on the steering wheel or stalks. Lights and wipers are automatic, daytime running lights are always on. Latest software update has massively toned down the driver attention alert. I’m not sure what the functions are that people feel then need to be constantly turning on and off or adjusting as they drive?!

Love the drone shots over the wooden bridge. Lots of effort put into these reviews. Thanks, as always for such great videos.

If only it had some decent efficiency. 4mi/kWh should be the goal in all combined weather.
The mad width of the tyres alone on all new cars are a concern.

I wouldn't refer to a 4 step process for turning on your lights as a quirk. I would just call it what it is, dangerous. How ae we in a situation where you get points for looking at or touching your phone while driving but car manufacturers are replacing simple buttons with complicated screen menus that require you to take your eyes off the road for what were previously simple tasks

Beautiful imagery in the video and the car looks great on the outside but I was disappointed by the fiddly driver controls when I sat inside an EX30

I really like it, love the looks inside and out. Shame everything is controlled via the screen but that’s not new and you’d get used to it.

Excellent well rounded review, I agree it’s the nicest EV out there for the money.

Way back in 2009 Volvo were testing a C30 EV prototype test mule in the arctic circle. Terrible that the C30 and smaller, lighter cars in general were killed off. It would make for more accessible, efficient and affordable EVs.

Love this review. Great camera work and information on a car I was seriously considering buying. I've been looking around for a new EV and this one tick a lot of boxes. Thanks for the great reviews.

Just a point to note.. 270 BHP .... nobody really needs that in standard driving. In fact. In ICE Cars, the more HP the car has, the more expensive the insurance!

Battery cars and PHEV cars tend to have inflated HP, But PHEV can only produce the inflated HP for a short time until the battery is depleted.

In the UK, insurance companies are beginning to rate the HP in battery vehicles as a "loading" factor in insurance premiums.

High HP in a standard ICE vehicle would be 190 to 210 BHP and that would be normally in the size of car as an Audi A6

I’m awaiting delivery of my twin motor ultra next month on salary sacrifice lease. Same colour and trim as this car. Cloud blue is very weather dependent on if it looks blue, grey or white.

Is there no way to make shortcuts to items otherwise buried layers deep in menus? I know that on the newer Mini Coopers a simple swipe up allows you to access all your shortcuts.

It gets 2nd place in new Ncap crash test, but you'll need that if it takes 4 steps to turn headlights in - ludicrous

I keep reading and reading comments about the wonders of the buttons and the bad of the touch screens. I would only like to see what happens with someone who starts directly driving their first car, only with a screen. Will you miss the buttons you never use or is it just a matter of habit? In my opinion, the screen can be as effective as any other control system, it is just a matter of learning and that is not easy at certain ages and after years of "full buttons" driving.

I agree that any function should be accessible in one, two or at most three steps for unimportant functions. Google and Volvo must work on this interoperability. In my opinion there should be the possibility of having several shorcuts to functions or even better to the creation of Android-style routines and modes. Example: Distracted driving:--> Disable driving watch, disable speeding warnings, Disable lane change, etc etc.

If that were possible, I would even admit the characteristic of Volvo returning to its default safe state every time you get out of the car. Ok. Volvo saves its secure brand image and at the same time the driver makes his decision, in a couple of seconds. Everybody happy.

For me an addition that I think it would have been very interesting to have done, is the rear sliding benches that the Smart or even my old RAV4 from 23 years ago has. You decide if you want a trunk, or legs.
