In my studies, the fomorians were not actually the first people in Ireland. The fomorians came on ships from I think France if I remember correctly. But the people there were not natives either. Those people were descendants of one of Noah’s family members (I believe brother). He was warned by Noah to take his people and flee for a great flood was coming. They sailed to Ireland. The flood came and wiped a lot of them out. But they regrew into a settlement. The fomorians came to conquer, lost the battle, but ultimately won after they brought plague to those people. That’s basically what historians say anyway.

So yeah, really interesting stuff.
