Gil Shir opens up the topic of the Tree of Life from perspective of the wisdom of Kabbalah.

While a curious phenomenon to many, the Tree of Life—known to some as a symbol, to others as a game, as a movie, and for its mentions in the Bible—in the wisdom of Kabbalah, the Tree of Life describes a specific spiritual phenomenon.

The wisdom of Kabbalah is defined as a sequence of roots that hang down by way of cause and consequence, weaving to a single exalted goal: the person’s discovery of the upper light (the Creator).

The Tree of Life is that entire cause-and-effect chain. It is a formation that emanates from a “Upper Simple Light” that “had filled the whole existence” (quoting from the “Tree of Life” poem by the Ari [Rav Isaac Luria]), through a series of concealments that dim the light, down to the final filter of our world, where it continues acting through our entire universe.

As humans, the light continues guiding our development: We first exist in this world to preserve ourselves like rocks, then grow like plants, move like animals, and finally, connect socially as human beings.

Toward the end of our development, we begin feeling the original upper light acting in our lives. It causes us to feel a certain kind of emptiness in the ways we have fulfilled ourselves up until today, surfacing existential questions within us.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, such a state marks the beginning of our ascent from this world up the Tree of Life, to our source.

The light continues guiding the development of this new desire that emerges. It also gives us opportunities to strengthen its influence upon us, so that we can accelerate our way up the Tree of Life.

This process of spiritual awakening and how to navigate our ascent to our life’s source is taught in the wisdom of Kabbalah.

In this lesson, Gil Shir introduces the Tree of Life through a Kabbalistic lens, describing the development of Kabbalah through key Kabbalists and their texts over the generations, significant mentions of the Tree of Life by these Kabbalists, opens up the Tree of Life poem by the Ari and the ten Sefirot, the structure that we discover as we rise up from our world to our life’s source.

Once upon a time there was a fish who wanted spiritual enlightenment and searched all the waters of the world. He studied with other fish and still felt he was missing something. Then one day a large wave came and threw him on the sand. He was gasping for breath and knew he was going to die.
Another wave came and drew him back into the sea. It was then that the fish learned that the sea itself was the God he was looking for. He was swimming in it all his life and he knew he was safe and connected in it once more.
He quickly went to all the teachers he had studied under and told them. They all laughed at him. They did not yet have the capacity to learn what he was trying to tell them.

The Tree of Life is the Foundation of Eternal Energy to enter the kingdom of the Prime Creator, the golden city with all its splendor. So i felt it in my expression.

It seems as though the sefirot and developing more detail and correction within each sefirah is related to consciousness and psychological/spiritual matters and emotions forces within each of us.

Great video, I've learned a lot. I do want to say I disagree slightly with your opinion of not corporealizing the sefirot. The symbol in and of itself is a physical manifestation of the highest concept of spirituality. In the same way, translating it into the human body and its chakras, or the solar system, is nothing but a further tangible explanation of a deeply intense concept no? Maybe it's just me.

Nicolai Tesla can help you tie in the frequency/vibration understanding of colors. Add that to quantum mechanics and that helps open up a filter understanding of the Kabbalah. Both the Sefer Yetzirah and the Zohar are astonishing in light of these things.

I really appreciate your teaching. As a color specialist. Black is all color . As you remove each color you'll see the underline remaining colors. White is the void of color. Thank you, blessings

I stumbled upon this channel. I have been getting ideas about gates of consciousness. Eddy Izzard has a joke that describes God as a hippy in a caravan in deep space trying to make a Flan. Which makes me peel with laughter. Last summer on a long drive Los Angeles to Montreal it suddenly occurred to me that there are gates or levels of consciousness each has a guardian. When we transition we are greeted by our chaperone or spiritual usher. Who kindly explains where we are in teh grand scheme of things. We are humbled by how much work is still left to do. Okay, this is simplistic. To hear about the ONE soul of the early teachers is exciting. Of course the Tree of life, shape is very clear and helpful. Codes...to know it is all hidden in code. very interesting and right. so many of us would abuse this knowledge for money, anyway this is a BIG shout out of love and gratitude for you this channel it is done with so much CLARITY. Thank you.

Man, someone tell me if I’m way off base, but The Poem literally sounds like it’s describing the Big Bang.

“No vacancy; All is filled.
Boundless, balanced even and equally.” Refers to the perfect symmetry that existed prior to the birth of the Universe/ the Big Bang.

“Ein Sof(Infinity) restricted himself, exactly at his center..” Refers to when the symmetry was broken, and the Big Bang occurred.

My mind is blown.

Each incarnation reveals a path of greater accessibility by not pointing spirituality to one object, person or even system; rather, it unravels a process of encapsulation & fractalization.
