Made a typo talking about the weight! I showed 3.97 lbs on the screen for weight. It's 2.97 lbs. Sorry about that! What do you guys think of the laptop?

I really love the angled ports. IMO all laptops should be like that.

We have two hands in Scotland so opening this laptop shouldn’t be a problem for us. I don’t mean to be insensitive to all those one-handed people but perhaps a tablet would be better for you all.

On the fence between three laptops at the moment the Zenbook S14, S16 and the Omnibook Ultra flip. I had the Spectre X360 and loved the typing experience and the haptic trackpad. i am glad to see them carry over from the spectre.

I am considering the 32 Gb RAM version of this once it comes out in November.
I do not know why, I rarely use more than 16 Gb. But sometimes it gets close enough to make me nervous.
I love the weird thing at the edges where the USB C is set to 45 degrees instead of 90. And am looking forward to the battery that lets me go all day while traveling.

Thanks for another balanced review Matt, I always enjoy them.

It's a shame that they took one of the best things about the new Lunar Lake packages (the new Arc GPU) and gimped it. I like the design and, while overpriced, it is pretty premium. But it's disappointing that you have to sacrifice performance. The least they could do is give us a fan profile that lets us trade noise for better performance.

I had a HP omnibook back in like year 2000 that was old then, Cool they kept the name, it was a cool little computer with a pop out mouse on a stick

Great review! Definitely agree on the port situation, it's way behind other laptops (no USB-A or HDMI). I will say, having USB-C on both sides so you can charge on either is a huge plus at least. I think it's a huge shame that the Zenbook and upcoming X1 Carbons don't have that.

Light-weight, long battery life, great screen and frame rate, ability to do all basic computer work and content consumption including light gaming, tablet mode ability with screen.
I love this.
But i need them to make the 32gb version in 288v..

I just saw this in a store today. the OLED has a bit of screen door effect, similar to the envy (ok) but didn't feel as bad as the spectre.... (same display? one in a series?)
I like the haptic touchpad. the keyboard is good. (But why the fingerprint/onOff in the "DEL" position top right?)
What I didn't like: hard to open, I have to pry my fingernail in... also why no better ports? at this price point?

struggeling between this premium version or a medium envy 155U or lenovo yoga 7i with 155h.

maybe I will go with the omni book flip in blue.

How does the battery life compare with the newest Surface Pro? I love my Surface Pro 9 but i really want an OLED display and the battery life on it is abysmal. How's the writing experience compare as well, for that matter? I use it daily for note taking so it's important to me too.

Great review! I'm considering the 258v/32GB/1TB version which is the only option in my local market.

$600 off the HP Spectre with meteorlakes right now at BestBuy. Literally ditching my Asus G16 with a 4090 with that one with a 4050 because the experience of using it is genuinely so much better.

thanks for the detailed review. I am wondering how well the pen performs compared to Surface Pro and Galaxy Book because I write things with my laptop. I have a tablet but too heavy to carry around a laptop and a tablet. so can you please let me know if it gives experiences good enough to write with. if you rate it out of 10 assuming that surface and galaxy is 10 out 10, what would the HP pen be?

I am also a left-hander. Some laptops allow you to choose which hand you are writing with in their settings. Changing it from the default right hand to the left might help with palm rejection.
