Hats off to Notre Dame. Freeman might be doing something special there BK couldn't. I have a lot of respect for Freeman.

My gut says close game but A&M wins. Elko is a huge upgrade at HC vs what they’ve had with Jimbo

Mitchell Evans tore up Elko's defense last year at Duke.

Hard fought game. 2 elite defenses.
16-13 Notre Dame.

The country is about to discover a very talented QB in Conner Weigman. He has the “it” factor. He’s extremely accurate, has a quick release and will shine on the big stage.

Looking forward to the big game! Let's Go Fighting Irish!☘☘☘

I’m going to clear something up. Weigman has had 1
Injury. Last season.
His freshman year he only played in 5 1/2 games because he was QB3 on the depth chart. Haynes King went down. Then Max Johnson went down. Connor finished the season with 9 td’s to 0 Int’s. Then he got hurt 4 games in. Stop making it sound like Weigman has a history of injuries. BTHO OF ND!

Such a hard game to figure out, and so many storylines. I think ND is MUCH better than people think, but it will all come down to how good their SUPER young OL holds up. I think it’s possible that ND is better at every position group besides OL (and DL), and going worst vs best makes me think that Texas A&M could win this just with this matchup. My gut says ND wins, but I wouldn’t be at all shocked if A&M pulls it out. ND 20 A&M 16.

'91 Aggie grad here. I can't be anything but excited for A&M's future, *this* season. But probably not *this* game.
I think back to Manziel's first game against Florida. They had opportunities and played well, but the coaches and players were still trying to get fully integrated with each other.
I think this game will also unfold, in terms of flow, a lot like the A&M Clemson game, early in Jimbo's run. Way more competitive than people thought, and their opponent was sweating a bit, but just had a bit more experience and "unity".

If you want to be the best you have to play the best, and this game is certainly that for A&M.

Secretly, I'd love to a revisit of that 70ish to 70ish LSU game from a few years back, but I know they have purposefully nerfed OT to avoid that very scenario. Ahh, well, likely pitchers' duel, it is then.

If A&M wins this big game home opener at Kyle field the hype will be real we haven’t felt a buzz like this since the manziel era

Elko nearly beat ND last year with a team full of 2* and 3* athletes at Duke, in a 35K capacity stadium. Give me the Aggies by 10, 27-17.

ND has the better offense
ND has the better defense
ND has one of the most underrated special teams play in CFB
Irish go into college station and put the nation on watch and WIN 27-13. Turnover battle won by Irish, and a big special teams play

No way Texas A+M scores 24 points on that very salty Irish defense.

Fear the 12th man. No, not the Texas crowd - Mike Elko.

The 'Golden Defense' will become a Notre Dame legend to future decades.

No they didn't. A&M was #5 in tackles for loss.
A&M aren't even in the top 50 for Defensive TD's. Notre Dame was #15.
1st Downs Defense, ND was #9 and A&M was #15.
ND was #3 in Passing Yards allowed, A&M was #37.
ND Red Zone Defense was #2, A&M was not in the top #50.
ND Scoring Offense #7, A&M was #24.
Turnover Margin - ND #20, A&M not in top #50.
Rushing Offense - ND #27, A&M not in the top #50.
We see the trend here.... A&M not in the top #50 for a majority of the stats from last
