This video was so relatable. I’ve never been able to find that game that I play for thousands of hours. I’ve always been jealous of people who have that game. It’s nice to hear you that this is normal and I’m not the only one.

ive adopted this mentality recently and man does it make gaming so much of a healthier hobby for me, for one games with actual conclusions and stories and endings helps my brain not want to constantly play play play, also I dont ever hop off the game mad or upset, its always a good time and i can leave anytime and just pick it back up anytime as well, also my appreciation for games has grown so much seeing a bunch of diff games and what makes every one special and different

When I watched this video, I expected your channel to be pretty big but was surprised, at how small it is. Your channel deserves way more attention and I can't wait to see more!

As a person who has ~1.5k hours in Skyrim across a few playthroughs I just love walking in that and Morrowind. Like, just taking different paths and absorbing the surroundings is something I love to do. Part of it is how with the destruction of wilderness around where I live, the remaining land I can walk is in those games. But the atmosphere is just really calming, sitting outside a house I built and furnished in the creation kit.
Also based Do It Yourself! pfp and what's the game at 7:12?

Im definitely a type B who enjoys a very wide spread of games, but i got a few games i tend to go into super focus mode with and push out 40-80 hours in a couple of weeks before i suddenly stop. Mainly survival crafting without or optional multiplayer, and then there is my 500 hours of Snowrunner. Whenever i dont focus mode though i tend to jump between games a lot so i rarely finish any.

The first minute or so was SCARY relatable, it honestly felt like you opened up my mind and stole my thoughts. It’s so weird that we get envious of people who have thousands of hours in games, but I’m also so happy that I’ve been able to experience so MANY games, even if a lot of them are only 10-15 hours

A big part for me in being able to play a game for hundreds (or even thousands) of hours is wanting to get better at the game. When the goal in playing the game is not to experience the game once and finish it, but instead improve at it, playing it for a long time becomes much easier. You can find unlimited replay value in just trying to get better at a game.

Second you started describing Minecraft I smiled cus I knew exactly what was coming. God knows how many hours I have in that game but it's definitely far beyond anything else. Think a big contributing factor to that is how I've been able to enjoy throughout my life. As I've grown up from a young child to an 'adult', the way I see and play it has evolved, allowing me to still be able to pick it up every couple of months and have a brilliant time.
Great video! This channel is definitely going places

I am person A, and I guess it is because in my childhood I wasnt allowed to buy games whenever I wanted. My parents would buy me games on my birthday or when my school report was good, so I spend a lot of time on one game, trying and figuring out everything, especially in games like Zelda. I would say that mastering one game, becoming really good at it and knowing almost everything about it is just an very appealing goal to me

I'm easily person A. I definitely have thousands of hours in Minecraft, a few thousand in geometry dash, about 700 in terraria, etc. I think personally I really like mastery. I don't get excited about the early game of Minecraft, I get excited at the thought of not only building an automated farm for just about everything I can, but having enough of an understanding about the mechanics of the game to design them myself. Games for me are very rarely about short term reward I feel like, but more for slowly working towards a goal and feeling good after achieving it, which is probably why I enjoy geometry dash so much. Idk, I don't feel like I'm in the majority with this way of enjoying games, but that's my perspective on it all

Being fair, the high hour count games for some people are the games which either are addictive enough or allow the person to escape the easiest. It's not about feeling more or experiencing novelty, but returning to a stable average or chasing the high which for instance highly competetive online games provide. I myself can sink into a game and play it all days to a point where it hinders other parts of my life.

Some games I played for a short time (below 30 hours, Disco Elysium, Night in the Woods, the Forgotten City) somehow end up being more memorable and stuck in my head even many years later than games I play regularly.
That's when I know a game was really worth my time.

I am kinda a middle man on this. While i do play so many different games (100 last year based on Steam replay). I still managed to play more than 6000 hours on Terraria since i started 6-7 years ago.
Also, cool video. Always nice to find new channels.

You are a legend for being able to play factorio and not get addicted and play for 10000+ hours without breaks

As someone with 2000 hours on Geometry Dash and almost 300 hours on Celeste, I like to play games to get skilled at them. I set myself goals that I want to achieve and it keeps me playing them. Being skilled at a game is what makes it fun for me and getting into the communities of the games keeps the motivation up since I can share my achievements and experiences with others and I have made many friends through the game. I don't play that many games, but the games I play, I play a lot.

bro im happy to know that i'm not the only one to feel like this like, why can't i spend a looot of time in on game, u know? i can barely mention one "favorite" game, i love a lot, but a favorite? it's hard. nowadays i'm not even playing a lot because of an strange feeling, something about wasting time or not really being happy while playing, it's really strange, here in brazil we call this feeling the "Sindrome do PC Gamer" (The Gamer PC Syndrome, it is when one buys or is gifted an actual powerful computer, but after the quick beginning happiness subsides, the person finds himself in a limbo of "no games give me pleasure" or "I can run every game, but I don't feel like playing anything anymore".), it's a good topic for a future video. i'm glad i found your channel, keep the good work bro.

I play the same games for hundreds of hours because I can't afford to buy new games. Living paycheck to paycheck, free to play games and hugely discounted games are how I get my gaming fix.
