Wasting time is not the biggest problem video games pose. There is 1 huge reason why video games are preventing you from becoming successful. The harsh truth is, that maybe, you should never play video games again.

I strongly agree video games are a huge distraction and playing nonstop for hours upon hours can be a waste of time. I’m beginning to realize that our real life goals are more important than what video games have to offer. Besides video games are rigged to be addictive for a reason, to keep us playing. We will only be satisfied in life once we fulfill out real life goals.

If you target video games, then you have also have to believe the same thing true about movies, music, art and other hobbies.

When a retro gaming channel tells you your video is excellent and true, than you know your video is quality stuff. 😅 Excellent video, keep up the good work! 🙂

I quit playing video games cause I had a burn-out, partly from dopamine depletion and the stress that came with it realizing I couldn't have a succesful life anymore. So I wanted to turn it around.

After I quit, I started to try and build my life and I always focussed on raising consciousness in my life so I started to coach people.

After a while, I found out humanity is a sleeping race that is way too dumb and clueless to understand how everything works.

So I started to play video games again.

I used to program and write video games, I was a computer programmer in small business firm for a while but also had the side innovation where I designed a lot of machine code and basic games over the years, even ported games from the 8-bit era, 15 years ago we did a small study to survey the effects that video games have on young people between the ages 9 to 25, After some throughout interviews we found out that playing video games At an early age actually increased the child’s mental ability and response times by lighting up the rewards system of the brain, ADHD sufferers were no longer taking their medications, therefore increased more attention and life happiness, they were less stressful. but when we introduced a physical task to complete a project that teenager could not put it in fruition, other then keep put it off to another day. But these studies were primarily based around playing video games for more then 25 hours a week plus in the high percentile group, the less percentile where the students were playing video games less then 15 hours a week showed improvement in their lives and gave them something to look forwards to, we call this the balanced group, the much lesser group who played video games less then 5 hours per week had a boring lifestyle and just played to lift their spirits up. So my opinion on Video Game addiction as a gaming professional, yes it can be addictive but it also depends on the individual as well, if their life is balanced I don’t see why they should not enjoy playing Video Games as in improving their Cognitive function and warding off disease such as Parkinson’s or Alzheimers. The Key is Moderation. Do you tasks first, then enjoy a little bit of off-time to relax the brain playing an education or tactic video game to exercise, reflex and light up those cognitive areas. Remember health first, Job Second, complete those important tasks, then enjoy your free time. What you do in your free time is entirely up to you.

As for For myself, I am almost 50, (and as for my opinion) yes I am a Fan of video games. But I also do things in Moderation. I love gaming I have played almost every game out their possible on almost every computer console system ranging from the Vic-20, c64, PC, Nintendo, Xbox to PS5. Has it effected my life in anyway ? Not one bit, I have made a profession out of it. And also enjoying my Goals that I have set apart from Gaming which is Agriculture. I will never give up gaming as it is an essential part of who I am. My Identity. You only live once so enjoy life.

Honestly, I still play video games but i also know when to put it down and focus on work. I believe that even when working, you should have some time to relax and unwind for a bit

Thank you lots, very good delivery of this problem.

Ive had this model that i refer to regarding video games. Playing games skyrockets your general chart where you compare whats fun/important. And then everything else is much less important and fun. But only in comparison to the videogame.

Great vid, mate! The way i see it, playing every once in a while isn't a problem, it's fun and can be a good experience to enjoy a piece of artwork, just like watching netflix series, documentaries and such things, but on the flipside, when you burn 40+ hours a week in MMOs, that's a giant redflag to change xD

Video games (about adventures and world-wide racing and stuff) motivated me into traveling the world, wich I did, thanks to hard work. I wanted to see in real life, the places I had seen on those games when I was a kid. Playing the Sims made me more creative about the house I wanted to live in some day, and now I have a beautiful house, a wife and 2 kids. Playing RTS like Age of Empires made me fall in love with History. And thanks to that I was a History teacher on an university for 3 years, wich were some of the best years of my life. And finally, I once made an indie videogame (survival horror) just for fun, and a short horror film with my friends wich we sent to a film festival a few years ago, thanks to Resident Evil games, wich I love, and wich made me love the Horror genre overall. I know they can be addictive, but not everything about videogames is that bad. If you know how to use them, they can be a great motivation and creativity tool in your life.

I think it depends on the type of game you are playing and how serious you take the game as well. As some video games can teach you math, problem solving and can also teach you about hard work to reach your goals. I use to struggle with math, problem solvings and history until i started playing video games as a kid I've learned better from playing video games as a kid, i still play video games and i still reach my goals in life. Video games can be educational as well as entertainment every video game has some form if lessons in them one can learn. I don't play every day only when I'm bored, playing video games can be no different than watching movies or reading a book they all have life lessons in them as well as mythology lessons and work ethics in them. By playing video games you are challenging your brain which improves the mind in along way. Video games only becomes a negative thing is if you make an addiction out if it like anything else.

I'm currently making progress towards an acting carreer, and have actually been involved in some big projects I'm happy to say

Today I received a copy of the elder scrolls 4 Oblivion to play

I could sense that it was the wrong idea, and I've thrown it away...

It feels liberating, more so than any dopamine rush I could have gotten playing it
