Sys Admins benefit a lot from the Linux+ cert. Given how a lot of areas are combining into each other, like Network and Cyber, then getting Linux+ as a network or Cyber guy helps a lot. Juniper utilizes Linux as the backbone, and more and more companies are utilizing stuff like Splunk which will require knowledge of Linux in order to use.

From what I've seen, more and more we're moving back towards the root of things, and utilizing Linux based software, in order to accomplish tasks. Especially since businesses are cost oriented on a lot of stuff, Linux is an amazing way to save money. Linux+ is going to be a golden standard by the end of this decade!

I got Linux+ cert 11 years ago in 2012 and it never really did anything for the jobs I've held and applied to since then. Back in 2012, I finished CompTIA Core A+, Net+, Sec+, Linux+ and MS 2007 certs through a 1 year program from a state grant as that was all the funding would cover and the advanced cert tracks were too expensive. I have been working in and out of IT field since the 190s though so there's that too.

Hello friend. Im going to learn C and C++ at a school really deeply, but I also like Linux, do you think it makes sense to go for linux+ and just simply learn linux in the meantime in my free time?

I love ❤ Linux. I’m currently studying for the Comptia A+ and I’m struggling to grasp the info, mostly because it is Soooo BORING to me! Would you say that getting a Linux + certification as your first IT certification a good decision ?

CCNA and RHCSA are both far superior job wise then the Network and Linux+

You’ll need the Sec+ for DoD jobs but that test was a glorified vocabulary test.

Wouldn’t RHCSA be better, since Red Hat Enterprise Linux is the standard in the North American market, and it’s a practical cert?

I heard the same thing from my current employer that have the Linux+ could land you a big pay job but I don't see any jobs paying 6 figures with Linux+ as a required certification, what I do see is RedHat Linux certs. I believe RedHat Linux would be a better way to go from where I live and jobs I've seen.

How does the CompTIA LINUX + cert compare to the LPIC?? Which one is more acceptable to the Tech industry?

Hello, can you take this certification if you are beginner and don't have any other certifications. I have used linux for years in my home environment but I have no professional experience. I do have masters degree in Information Technology and I currently work as Business Support Analyst.

Isn't having the skill more important than the cert? It's interesting at our company we are troubleshooting an issue for a series of firewalls in our environment and the manufacturer is going all the way into the Linux level of their firewall to try and address the issue. So in my opinion the skill is more important than the cert.😮

Did you get certs from Linux foundation as well??
