Brother, you nailed it about Russia. Im a 62 year old man, retired army, retired Lutheran Pastor, My fiancé is a 57 year old Doctor who had been a Captain in the Soviet Army. When I traveled to Yekaterinburg where she lives I could not believe how clean the city was. very very little graffiti, no wierdos on the street, but the safety, I could not believe it. I have a conceal and carry weapon license for my state. my pistol goes wherever I go and most men at my Church were also armed. My Fiance and I would walk about a mile through the forest to get to Church and there were young women walking alone in this place. I asked my Fiance, how can this be, but she said, don't worry nothing will happen to them. For a Westerner you are also correct about the groceries, We filled up a grocery basket at the store and it was about $85. In the US this would have cost me $380 to $400. I looked at her gas and electric bill for the month and I asked, is this for a day. I'm not overexaggerating, her gas was about $& and her electric was about $15 for a month. No cost for water. In my town my water bill alone is $250 a month, my gas $85 a month, my electric depending on the month will be between $230 to $550 a month and garbage is $45 a month. But the food tasted so different. I took me a month to get used to it. I was not used to food that was not artificially colored and full of hormones and chemicals. The only thing I do not like, and this is because of the sanctions, but I have to physically carry my money into the country. I could go on and on but I am going back this December to get married, my furniture is already sold, then I will come back and sell my house which has doubled in price in 7 years. I am going to the land where the only place I see a rainbow is in the sky and not flying above my own countries flag. You nailed it brother. .

The people who are moving to Russia are smart. They are getting a better value for the buck, and it's a beautiful place. Russia is not a perfect country, and neither one exists. People need to look beyond the mainstream media narrative, do their own research, and go see it for themselves. This YouTuber, not sure of his name, is right.

I lived and worked there for years. Neither my values, nor my political views had anything to do with it. Russia offers a much higher overall quality of life. It is clean, safe, and has fantastic green spaces and a mind-blowing array of cultural offerings. People value education, tradition, and manners. That is why I stayed in Russia for five years, and hope to return in the future

To be honest, I am always surprised by the fact that Americans leave the USA, I always thought that Americans are some of the most patriotic people on this planet. But anyway, welcome. Greetings from Russia, Moscow.

As a Russian, I love my country, but I want to warn the people who plan to move to my country: If you are running from something in your country and decided to move to Russia - it is incorrect decision (you wont be happy here because we have different problems), but if you move to Russia because you love/like in Russia certain things (style of live, culture, our beliefs - whatever) - then you made a correct decision and in this case I wish good luck

I love most their Patriotism, Traditions, sense of History with love and passion. Hauntingly beautiful music, Gregorian chorals, Ensembles, Orchestra, Folk Songs, War Songs and yes also Revolutionary music that is buynd to move you deeply. So are the Russian and Soviet movies which carry high humanistic values. And off course about everything you just praised. Never seen so many beutifully feminine dressed Women in any other county. May Father Moroz Bless you soon.

My husband is from Russia - came to the US when he was 11. I really appreciate his family values and we’ve talked about moving to Russia. I don’t speak Russian but he and his family still speak it.

Americans see Russians every day. In the NHL... They adore them. They love them. But for some reason they think that there are different Russians in Russia. And they don't think about why Russians return to Russia after their contracts end.Americans are amazing people, they believe TV and Hollywood.

Hello! I’m Russian who lives in Los Angeles, CA, who been caught by propaganda of the liberal beliefs and moved to the US almost 4 years ago. Now I’ll get some things done and going to return back to Russia. It was an incredible experience living in the US and learnt English from the scratch by myself but also I got that I won’t never find a level of comfort and safety for my family here but in Russia. There’s no such big cities in the US like Moscow, Sankt-Petersburg, Kazan, Perm, Yekaterinburg and so on with even close level of safety like in Russia. Also service is much worser here in the US, unfortunately. Even compared to my small and modest town in Russia. Even bars, cafes and restaurants I cannot find anything similar by quality here in the US although I traveled a lot interstate. I was dreaming about another US. Sorry guys, but that is just my truth, don’t want to insult anyone. Welcome to Russia, then! There you are always safe even if someone doesn’t smile you like. :)

Why Russia? Because USA lost the life value, family values and the political values

You are 100% spot on about freedom of speech. It has gotten a lot worse in the US in the past 10 years too.

I am 25 and am learning russian for two reasons. One, my fathers grandfather was russian, my fathers grandmother was polish. I am white and not afraid to care about my heritage and lean about the history of my family. Two, yeah i am somewhere between centrist and conservative, leaning more toward conservative. Russia seems to be the only place where, basically speaking, regular straight white americans can be themselves. It is wild how the “popular” opinion in america seems so against the key demographic of the country. I would argue its not actually the popular opinion, its just the promoted opinion and the vast majority who feel this way are suppressed on social media and such

Hello from Russia. Guys, I can explain to you why there is such a difference between Russia and the USA.
Russia is a historically formed state. The Russian people created it on their lands, then gradually expanded the territory to the south and east, involving other peoples, but not destroying them, but preserving them.
The USA is the opposite case. It is an artificially created state of the Anglo-Saxons on foreign lands. They seized these lands and killed almost all the local inhabitants. And then they built an ideal corporation for making money.
Therefore, Russia and the USA have different goals. In Russia, the goal is to improve the life of its people. And in the USA it is to make money for the richest. And everything else is based on this.
Why do 99% of people in Russia own real estate, while in the USA the percentage is very low? Because in the USA rich people earn money by renting housing, so they have been lobbying for such a system in construction for many decades, so that it would be very expensive to buy real estate. Or why in Russia there is a washing machine in every house, while in the USA there are common washing rooms? Again, it's about money, this is how they earn money. And so on.
