WHAT IS MINIMALISM ART ? The Beauty of Simplicity and Form

In this video, I'll take you on a tour of Minimalism origins and some of its most famous Artworks.
Minimalism arose in the early 1960s in New York, among artists who were intentionally rejecting contemporary work that they believed had become stale and academic. The new art chose cool over "dramatic": their sculptures were often made of industrial materials and stressed anonymity. Younger artists began to rethink traditional boundaries between media as a result of a slew of new inspirations and rediscovered forms.

Thank you for this informative review of minimalism. All to often I have encountered individuals who are a little too quick to label some artworks as being minimalism art. I will probably return to this video occasionally to keep my own head on straight regarding this subject.

When you are explaining masterpieces, please narrate their name / creator too. Now, its a bit confusing which explanation belongs to which work.
