The Acolyte Is Exactly What They Told Us It Would Be

Star Wars Acolyte is finally here. It's not the dumpster fire I expected. Worse, it's flat and boring.

I never hate watch these bad shows. I’ve never seen Velma. I’ve never seen rings of power. I’ve never seen madame web. I didn’t watch the all female ghostbusters movie or the boba fett miniseries. But I’ve watched maybe a hundred + hours of YouTube creators complaining about them. Much more entertaining. Nice video and a like from me.

"There's no good or evil" is something an evil person would say. Even a person who proudly declares they're evil is a saint by comparison.

The thing I hate the most is the gaslighting regarding this so-called toxic fanbase. This is a thing KK and others made up. The whole toxic fanbase thing is just a victim ideology invention to keep her (A wealthy millionaire) looking good among her own crowd. No woman was ever unwelcome in star wars until KK declared it and kept using that line (talk about repeating the lie until everyone believes it). The female audience of geek stuff was always small, but they have now all walked away with the men. Hollywood doesn't want to tell stories, they want to tell identity and victimhood, and sadly, I don't see it stopping anytime soon. As a woman, I'm not into it, and I refuse to watch it.

Disney spent a ludicrous amount of money to buy multiple franchises so they could capitalize on their massive existing fanbase, then spent a decade intentionally, actively, and OPENLY chasing that existing fanbase away, while barely trying to grow a new one. A confusing business strategy but I'm sure it'll pay off any day now.

If Headland was a man, she'd be in jail for helping Harvey commit his crimes.

Holy shit, we've finally got there. We're finally at the point where blowing up the Death Star has become "morally grey". We are now full post-modernism.

"Just remember guys...there was a food court on the Death Star. So before you celebrate it's destruction by way of Anakin...yes Anakin Skywalker...just know there was a kid working a summer job at the Mrs. Fields cookie shop that didn't always approve of what the Empire was up to that also died." - Charlie Barnett

It's kind of wild that the Scene has gone from "The Empire is obviously nazis and always evil" to "blowing up the Death Star was a morally gray act actually" in just a year's time.

Ah yes. The "I don't feel safe" argument. Me as a short, finnish female with neurological illnesses just feel so unsafe when thease ment for entertainment movies and shows don't have character thats JUST LIKE ME. How am I suppose to feel safe watching them.

The fact that they haven't even considered a Revan movie, shows they have no knowledge of what the fandom wants. Although, as they keep murdering characters, I'm kinda glad they leave him alone

The thing that all these people seem to miss with the Death Star is that LUKE killed about a million COMBATANTS. By blowing up Alderaan, the empire killed 2 billion civilians. Those two things aren’t even close to comparable

It couldn't be simpler for me. I'm tired of performative diversity. I'm tired of being told all the details of these peoples' boring, lifeless lives. And for god sake am I tired of this fake "moral ambiguity" being inserted into every single story. I already knew the show wasn't for me, but even if it was, it just sounds like a waste of time, and judging by what they discussed about the upcoming episode on Open Bar last night, it's only getting worse from here.

Great video as always, Greg.

With how obsessed they are about modern day politics I’m legit surprised Palpatines plan on TRoS wasn’t build a wall

Kennedy "The fanbase is predominantly male." Also Kennedy, "The force is female..."

KK is the hitchhiker you pick up in the desert who draws a gun, kicks you out, and drives off giving you the finger.

Remember, "Any contractor working on that Death Star knew the risk involved; if they got killed, it's their own fault. A roofer listens to this [pointing to his heart], not his wallet."

I’d love to hear that guy do a press tour on WW2. He can explain how, depending whose side you are on, the Nazis aren’t the bad guys it’s everyone else.

Endured the first two eps. The biggest sin any kind of sci-fi can commit is that it's boring. The only reason we're discussing it (like you said) is because its Star Wars. Star Wars is officially dead. Just waiting for the funeral to take place so I can pay my respects.

I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the characters, about to be killed by a Jedi, says something like, “I can’t breathe, ” or, “don’t shoot, ” as some sort of Easter egg to real world events.
