Learn how to resolve the bsod error 0X00000024. Get an insight about the error and find out why it is caused in the first place.

In this tutorial, we will teach you how to fix the blue screen of death stop Error 0x00000024. This blue screen of death stop error is caused because of a problem in the system hard drive or in the partition where Windows is installed.

Step 1 -- What causes the error

The error "0x00000024" occurs when there is some problem in the system hard drive or in the partition where Windows is installed. The error screen will splash while booting up the windows.

Step 2 -- Choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt option

In order to resolve the error, restart the computer with the F8 key pressed in order to access the Advanced Boot Options. From there, select the option Safe Mode with Command Prompt and hit the Enter key.

Step 3 -- Use the check disk command

Once you are done, the system will boot up and after few minutes the command prompt will appear. Type the command chkdsk c: /f /r and hit enter. This command is used to check the errors in the hard drive. C: is the partition where Windows is installed. /f switch is used to fix the error while the /r switch is used to repair the error.
You will be informed that the system volume is being used by another process and it cannot run. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? Here type Y and hit the enter key.

Step 4 -- Restart the computer

Now type the command "shutdown --r -t 0" and hit enter. This command is used to restart the system while the --t switch is used for the time and the numeric zero is used to specify the time in which the computer will shutdown.

Step 5 -- Disk Check

With that done, the system will restart and the disk check wizard will start. It will check the 5 stages of the disk; the first is file verification, the second stage is of Verifying the indexes, the third stage is of verifying the security descriptors. In the fourth stage, it will check Usn Journal Verification followed by the fifth stage in which it will verify the file data.
Once the process has been completed, it will automatically fix and repair the error and the system will restart.
As a result, the system will boot up in the normal condition and in this way, you have successfully resolved the error 0x00000024.

I also had it but no luck booting in safe mode with prompt, still blue screen. What I did is take the drive out and connect it to another PC via USB adapter to scan and fix the drive. It worked!

I can't even get Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Cmd Prompt to come up before getting the 0x24 BSOD error. I also get a BSOD error 0x7B when I change the Bios to use ATA instead of RAID. This is a 32bit Windows XP Pro machine with legacy software that cannot be re-installed on another system or newer OS. I can connect to the drive and view files when using Knoppix 7.0 as an OS running from CD. Boot.ini and hal.dll are both present under the System32 folder. Thoughts?

PROBLEM SOLVED FOR THIS TYPE OF ERROR OR SIMILAR!!!!
I HAD TO WRITE IN CAPITAL TO ATTRACT YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS SOLUTION.
YOU MUST HAVE A RECOVERY DISC TO DO THIS THOUGH.
(BUT YOU MAY ALSO TRY SAFE MODE)
IT TOOK ME 8 DAYS TO FIGURE THIS TRICK OUT.
*WHEN YOU SWITCH THE LAPTOP ON; IMMEDIATELY PULL OUT THE BATTERY AS THE ERROR SHOWS.
*GET YOUR SCREW DRIVER AND UNSCREW THE NUTS HOLDING YOUR RAM OR RAMS (IF YOU HAVE 2) AT  THE BACK OF YOUR LAPTOP.
* WAIT FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE FIXING THE RAM/ RAMS BACK.
* FINALLY, GET YOUR RECOVERY DISC AND SLOT IT IN.
YOUR COMPUTER WILL ACCEPT THE RECOVERY DISC AND RECOVER YOUR LAPTOP TO FACTORY SETTINGS.
JOB DONE.

Wow, I guess my BSOD is worse than what your video can resolve.
My Blue Screen pops up for a split second halfway through the Safe Mode boot up, and then restarts everything.
I had to Disable Automatic Restart on System Failure just to be able to see that my Blue Screen's Stop Code was a 0x24.
But now, with your video's direction to use Command Prompt, I'm unable to even follow through because once I select it, it still Blue Screen restarts immediately after everything I try.
So far, after some research, some had similar problems and mentioned Blown Caps on the motherboard. So, cracking open my laptop might be my next avenue unless someone suggests something otherwise.

My PC usually does that automatically after that bluescreen. I just got one, it didn't do it this time.
And no, don't think it fixes anything, because I've had it happen to me several times, even when it has done that process.
But my PC have been giving me bsods ever since I bought the shit. After just one month, it gave me one.
I had it in for service 3 times before I got tired of it and bought a laptop. Every time the store said there was nothing wrong with it. Yeah clearly, when it gives me a bsod even when it's installing hardware updates or Windows updates.
They probably just ran a ram stresstest and formatted it :P My brother did the same thing, didn't crash.
BUT a friend of mine (over the net) who's a programmer said that test isn't to find out if there's something wrong with the RAMs, that test just checks if they won't overheat. Even if there's something wrong with them in one section of the memory, they might not crash the pc if the test doesn't go where the error is.
Or something like that.

He said I should do this
[27.11.2014 22:06:13] REVELATiON / Yandere Studios: Burn the free version into a CD or install in an USB stick
And test your RAM

I haven't bothered with it :P
I'll buy a Mac next time I'm buying something new. FUCK WINDOWS, so damn sick of that glitchy shit.
I use the PCs the same fucking way that the fuckers who say it's the user's fault mostly do, and I still get problems. So fuck you guys who will think the many issues I've experienced with Windows and PC is my fault. I use them normally, don't install shit and so on.
(Sorry for my bad language, just sick and tired of PCs and its crap. Ever since my XP PC I've experienced shit with them)

I get this error after windows has already booted up. It seems to happen at random. Sometimes my computer will run while for about an hour or even several and then the blue screen will come up. Sometimes it will happen sooner. Naturally, I'm not sure what causes it. It's only started in about the last week and a half. I tried a system restore but it had an error while restoring. I've tried both virus scans and disc checks as said in the video. Both came up normal. The computer usually seems to be running normally right up until the blue screen. I'm not running a lot of programs or cpu intensive programs, usualy just firefox and the cpu usage and Physical memory usage seems low even right up until the moment of crashing (or it peaks too quickly for me to tell). I really have no idea what's going on and it's really frustrating.
