Jalid Sehouli, MD, Charité University of Medicine Berlin, Berlin, Germany, discusses a recent survey of nearly 1000 physicians around the world on how they broke bad news to patients and how they were trained for it. The results indicate a big demand for training, as many physicians reported feeling unprepared. Dr Sehouli emphasises the importance of training in this area for oncologists, for both the physician’s and the patient’s benefit. This interview took place at the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) 2021 congress in Prague.
