Lots of missing info here. Infeed, outfeed adjustments?

I was very very close to buying one of these Sherwood 8in jointers from the Melbourne Timbecon this week but I didn't because of poor customer service.
When I enquired the previous week there were 8 jointers in stock and 8 helical heads available, they weren't on sale at the EOFY so I waited to see if the price dropped in July which they did, website showed in stock but I rang to confirm, spoke to a Chris (not this Chris I don't think) and he could not care less about my want to spend close to $2K on one of their jointers, mumbling into the phone telling me they were out of stock with the helical heads but had 6 jointers available still and 'the boss' says he won't restock the heads until there is enough demand for them !?
I explained the website had them listed in stock and would he mind double checking, reluctantly he agreed and said he would call me back. (keep in mind I had the trailer on, cashed up and ready to make a purchase that day to keep the shop running)
1.5hrs later I called back and spoke to John who was at least a bit more helpful he told me they had 6 helical heads in stock and 6 jointers, great I said, I'll be there in an hour.
"Nope, the 'tech' has to fit the helical head or you'll void the warranty, he's coming in today but we don't know when."
This would mean two trips, once to have a look at the machine to confirm I was happy with it and a second to pick it up,
or pay $70 odd dollars for freight with an additional '$80 tailgate drop fee'.
I understand the tech only comes in every so often but why not fit all or at least most of the helical heads to the machines so that they're ready to go, surely the majority of their sales on the jointer is with the helical head fitted ?
Do those who buy the straight planer blade and opt to purchase the helical head afterwards then forfeit their warranty ?
I ended up calling the good people at CARBATEC where the service is always impeccable, they gave me a very decent discount on their 8in helical head jointer.
Long story long, I paid a bit more but got a superior machine with superior customer service.
I might sound fussy or too particular but thats woodworking for you, It's the nature of the game.

Like yourself, I don't have the space for a decent size jointer so I have a small bench-top jointer instead. Be good if you did the same show but using your bench top 6" jointer which doesn't have all the easy set-up opportunities. Include how to fix for snipe on these cheaper jointers which don't have sexy adjustment for outfeed/infeed table. Thks.
