They were playing a gig, nobody was dancing. Midset, they took a break. At the start of the 2nd set, she told the crowd "If you think you're to cool to boogie, I've got news for you...." so on and so on.
Later at the hotel she's listening to a recording of that night's set and hears what she had said to the crowd. Picked up her bass and came up with a song that took them around the world.
The song is iconic.
