Backing up your data is very important but a lot of us ignore doing backups coz setting it up is hard I show you some tips on how to setup backup and automate the task and also introduce to your the crashplan software which makes backing up very easy.

Ranjit, I just saw this video this evening - and it is a coincidence, because I was going to ask you, if it would be possible at some stage, to look at some 'drive image' software's. I mean, rather than backing up data, or having redundancy through raid etc - just, backing up your operating system hard drive to an image, on another media.

I don't know if you ever used any of the Drive Imaging software's. I am going to make a choice on one of those soon, and start using it for my main desktop.

Ranjit- Great video. Thanks. I have a Synology DS1512+ which I use to back up everything in my household. I would like to have redundancy and use Crashplan with the Synology NAS. Is this possible? I have heard things on-line to the contrary.

@geekyranjit The other reason I want to try out Acronis soon, is I wish to see if I can transfer an image somehow of the Windows 7 installation on my existing 1.0TB mechanical Sata drive, over to a new smaller capacity SSD. It may not work out for me, but over next summer, when hopefully I have time to fully investigate Acronis, I will take a good look at what it can do, its settings, tools etc. In the mean time, I must print out the manual, and some reviews maybe, to read in the meantime.

@geekyranjit Ranjit, I must obtain a copy of Acronis True Image very soon. My boot hard disk, is almost just set up the way I need to be, with all my software tools etc, and it has taken me since last summer when I built the machine, to get it up and running, in a functional way for me. I would hate to lose all that diligent work now. I like how Acronis retails in a three system pack also - like good AV softwares do these days - it makes sense for me to make images of a couple of my systems.

i have a question : Is there a software which i can use to backup my external HD and my internal HD (my macintosh HD ) to one external HD ? Time Machine only does a backup for my internal one.

Hi Ranjit, how did you map your NAS drive so that Crashplan can see it? I tried doing a simply network map via the Win7 tools but I can't get crashplan to see my NAS drive on my local network. How did you do this? Thanks!

@jin37uk mine had a western digital"(wd)"2tb external suddenly i stoped working...i was soo had to install all software all frome 1

Luckily I had it backed up :D
