I give my personal opinion about the fees surrounding the ledger nano x. Is it worth the buy or not? You choose after the video.

For every Transaction = Transfer/Move any crypto from one address to another as long as it is attested with a Trx Hash you will be charged. This isn't any fee charged by any particular entity like ledger or any cold/hot wallets. Its basically network fees which we pay for validating the transaction (transfer/movement of crypto's) that took place on the blockchain node. The only time you don't pay any fees is when you do not Buy/Sell/Move/Transfer cryptos from A to B in any form, in short you hold them where they are for rest of eternity.

The problem are not the fees, the problem are the excessive fees

You are charged a fee on any type of transactions. It's not just with the Ledger Nano, same goes with any type of wallet

You can adjust how fast you want the cryptos be transferred. It can be fast, standard or slow. The faster the transmission, the more expensive it is. Your 2usd can still be lowered for a 100usd transferred crypto.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that sounds like Ethereum gas fees. Which are astronomically still high.

My opinion has changed after Voyager halted all transactions and my crypto is stuck. Those fees seem insignificant now.

Am i missing something or how is this a problem with the ledger nano x? Its just how transferring crypto works. Ethereum fees are based on the gas-price and 21000 gwei per transaction on the mainnet, transferring ERC20 tokens can be alot cheaper.

As far as i know ledger does not charge any transaction fees themselves so its not their fault if you get screwed by the network/method you use to transfer tokens. Do correct me if i am wrong.

When you take your own money into your Possession there will be network fees of course !!!! if you want to control to control your own money in a decentralized way this is the cost of freedom

Keep up the good work. I think a comparison video of different cold wallets with a fokus on fees (in- and outbound!) would be appreciated by the community.

It's not a fee from Ledger, it's the gas fees, no? Coinbase fees are insane - they'll kill all your profit. If you are a trader, then maybe risk keeping it online for awhile. If you are an investor buying for the hodl, then wouldn't you recommend a cold wallet for security?

I don't think fees have anything to do with Ledger. They are standard network fees and are completely independent from the specific wallet you are using. And also crypto is not transfered "into" the Nano X. Tokens are always and only transfered on the blockchain. The Ledger simply stores your private keys offline, as opposed to on your filesystem as browser extensions do. That means with a HR wallet no hacker can access your private keys, even if they hack your computer.

Thanks a lot. I hate all these exchanges and products. Fees all over the place.

Lol: for the rest of eternity!
Basically if you do anything with them; it’s a fee. Like an ATM fee but if you use your own bank you’re not charged a fee.

But the network charges everyone.

I've had this problem since Day 1. Ledger charges high fees both coming and going.
for this reason, I try not to use my ledger very often. I especially don't store my ERC20/ETH tokens on the ledger. A lot of exchanges have near zero fees and Nexo has zero fees for most token.

It's not a Ledger fee. You'd be charged the same network fee to transfer your crypto to any new wallet (even a software wallet).

I'd rather pay 100 bucks in fees than loose 50k on a exchange that went bankrupt even coinbase is on risk of bankruptcy now days all exchanges are on the brink of going bankrupt due to the low trading volumes or like ftx doing funny business
