King Charles III attends State Banquet held by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Elke Buedenbender at Bellevue palace.

Alongside the Queen Consort, King Charles met with Steinmeier and his wife Elke Buedenbender at the Brandenburg Gate earlier today.

Kudos to the king's German which will for sure warm the hearts of a lot of my countrymen. It was a great gesture to mix both languages in his speeches. What I liked most were some allusions to the "Dinner for One" which belongs to German New Year's Eve for decades like the Christmas tree on 24. December. I must admit I was surprised about this relaxed monarch - not insisting to be an "institution" but coming down from his inherited pedestal...

It's seems that the people leaving comments that the king is German (( even though he's not he's just of German ancestry)) don't realise that the English people that is the Anglo-Saxons are Germanic people themselves.

Why is the president banging on about Brexit? Dull politician. Germany and Britain can visit each others' migrant centres to compare notes on the new reality.
Frankfurt has gone to sht, Munich on its way. No politician wants to stay in Berlin an hour longer than necessary.
