I miss Maya Moore playing. She is such a phenomenal player. Probably the 🐐 in terms of pure basketball skills and IQ.

People who have just started watching womens basketball cause of Caitlin Clark really dont understand how talented Maya Moore was and why Clark sees her as such an Idol and modeled her game partly after her.. She had MJ like skills. She could go to the ring and make circus shot layups, drain the 3 in your face, hit the MJ fadeaway, mid range was money and she just knew how to win. If she went to a bad team like Clark she would easily be in the discussion with top points ever. She just won on every level and retired early. Her legend is like if Jordan retired after 3 rings and never looked back. He still wouldve been considered the goat. Maya easily could hang with the college women of today. Her game looked faster and more explosive on the court than everyone else at that time. She truly was an ahead of her time player. And Clarks legacy will be the same for the next generation of women. And seeing how good womens basketball has transitioned from these two generational players its gonna be crazy to see what the next generational talent can do.

Awesome moment. I became an even bigger fan of CC when I heard Maya was her wbb idol. Maya is a very rare person who is/was in the 🐐 conversation and walked away in her prime and hasn’t looked back. She appears to have peace and was willing to make this full circle moment happen. I hope Caitlin will be able become the best version of herself whether that’s in the wbb world or life in general. There are unique challenges in professional wbb where she may likewise find her best is elsewhere.

The funny thing about respect is that you can't fake it. And, when it's mutual, it's a wonderful thing to see. My seven year old granddaughter lives in Iowa City and she is watching. Thanks to these two classy women for setting a good example!!
