It is an awesome bike and here are my thoughts:

I bought the Kentfield 1 because I wanted the black/silver color. I think the price for upgrading to Kentfield 2 is worth considering if you dig the #2 color scheme. The Micro shift is way better than Tournay and has a bigger gearing range

This is not a gravel bike; the upright seating position is relaxed with plenty of overview cycling along the roadside or gravel paths. A very comfy seat, the wide handlebar makes front very lively, bike sprints away effortless

Components: Wheels are ok but not for anything hardcore, quick release has a little play when you brake hard. The tires are a perfect match. Brakes are way better than expected, I moved levers 20mm inwards so they work as a two-finger model. Brake cable rattles inside frame. Drivetrain lacks a little in both the high and low gearing, derailleur is cheap and unprecise and will be changed.

I am 178cm - 84cm inseam and bought a Large. Perfect fit.

I really recommend this bike as your daily commuter and for longer leisure rides too

Great video Duncan. I really like the Kentfield but would prefer the Microshift Advent X 10-Speed groupset currently on the Kentfield 2, however prefer the copper colour of the 1. Do you know if it would be possible to upgrade the Kentfield 1 to this drivetrain?
