Stalker: Follows you 24/7 and take pictures without consent.
Paparazzi: Follows you 24/7 and take pictures without consent, "professionally".

I just realized it isn’t really lawyers we get mad at. It’s laws, and the loops, twists and turns found in the legal system that really piss us off.

American laws are weird. In my country there are privacy laws requiring permission to take photos of others.

We need to add a law where you need consent to take someone’s picture and actually follow that shit. This is fuckin crazy.

If there's one thing legal eagle has taught me, is that "in the wrong" in a legal sense can be very different than "in the wrong" in a moral sense.

Wow. The idea that someone can take photos of you without consent, or actively against your will, and then sue you over using it is a gross feeling combination.

If they’re taking photos of her without her consent, she should be able to use the photos without their consent. But honestly, there should be some kind of law that differentiates artists (real photographers) from paparazzi, or a law that prohibits people from taking and using photos of people without their consent, unless those people are wanted.

There really need to be laws protecting people from paparazzi. It’s just so freaking ridiculous.

The law is a pathway to many abilities some consider immoral.

Giving them the title of photographer is extremely generous

People in Germany:
“You have no power here.”

“Celebrities don’t have rights to pictures of them taken without consent by the paparazzi.”

How does that make any sense

You cannot compare a person to a tree. The paps shouldn’t have the right to take pics of people without their consent & sell it. Especially the way that they get the pics. It’s awful. That’s harassment & public endangerment. If it was the average person the law would step in. Apparently the law doesn’t apply to celebrities. They just have to endure being surrounded & making it tough for them to even move. People don’t realize how bad that is unless it happens to them. So let’s get that sorted out first.

Unless ur in Germany where u have the so called: Persönlichkeitsrechte I.e. the Right to ur image, the Right not to be photographed as the main focus of attention in public (you can photograph a building with people milling around). Thus makes street photography just something you can’t do. There was a case a couple of years back where a lady was photographed pulling a piece of luggage along a cobble stone road. The photographer made a large image of it and was successfully sued by her despite the fact that she was not recognizable

It would be awesome to get a video breaking down exactly when and where people can take a picture of you. Like, I understand that if I'm walking down the road, someone can probably take a picture of me. What if I invite someone into my home, and they then take a picture of me? What if I'm standing in a court of law, or at a voting booth, or in a public bathroom or changeroom (but not actually using the facilities or changing at the time of the picture)?

So..someone could take a picture of me, without my consent, and then when I share it..it’s my fault? The law is so confusing 😭

if i were a celeb i’d be wearing one of those reflective scarves that ruin photos 24/7 like if anyone’s gonna make money off my face it’s gonna be me

carols.

This law sounds a little backwards when dealing with photos of people. They should probably change it

Ahh yes, the classic “I don’t have the rights to my own face just because you took the photo” law. Always a crowd favorite!

To flip it around, could someone demand that any photo of themselves by specific photographers be removed or not used?
