Whoever came up with that video title deserves a raise AND a promotion

The reggae song absolutely sounds similar. The older song does not. The problem is there's nothing new under the sun. At some point inspiration will come from somewhere.

You know she just got handed music and signed to do it no questions asked nor research done. She is not an artist, she's a young hot woman with pipes. Don't act so surprised.

It's rare we get anything original anymore. I agree with the other comments, "biting" "sampling" other artists work is totally wrong, unless the original artists are being compensated accordingly. And it's the worst feeling seeing someone else reap the benefits of your work.

Wait I thought we all knew? Even physical is based on another song, thats why it’s so catchy, her songs have a familiar rhythm

I saw a video analysis of this and the person who is a musical analyst said that the movements in the chorus is known as the Charleston used by Michael Jackson and OutKast in Rosa Parks. it is a common thing to use...so the reggae band might also be questioned by OutKast if this happens

There's so many songs in existence now that pretty much any song can be sued for as little as similar chord structure.

It's almost impossible to make a song with Completly new chord progression and rhythm. Everything has been tried and done already. This thing of copyright lawsuit should be way more difficult to be able to sue for it.

Didnt all these songs sample that Outkast song which Dua Lipa did give credit to in the first place?

The modern artist just sample or snatch from previous songs that copy songs that were already there

Eighty thousand new songs hit the internet every day and it’s really inconceivable that two of them happen to sound the same? There’s a big degree of variety in music, but not that big. When you think about it, factoring in sheer volume, people are inevitably going to backtrace eachother (even on accident) with similar songs at a similar rhythmic pace or chord progression, with the amount of people making music. Unless you dig into subversive genres like breakbeat, probably not very many ‘original’ four count beat compositions left yet unexplored in existence. I don’t believe she stole any of this, at least on purpose. Probably just coincidence. Of course, that isn’t going to stop these no-name nothings from lawyering up and clawing for whatever they can, but that’s just our greedy ass society in a nutshell. We really need to re-examine the legal qualifiers for ‘plagiarism’ in music under a broader scope, because if just a similar chord progression is grounds to sue then frankly no song is safe.

Damn! They both sound exact same. I’m a fan of Dua, but damn her team failed her

Is it so hard to be genuine? No respect here.

If this song was not famous these money grabbers wouldn’t even care. You can’t own music 🎶 notes, riffs, and cadence.
