Black Bear Pass - Colorado (Complete Trail)

Black Bear Road or Black Bear Pass, and officially Forest Service Road 648, is a notorious jeep road trail that starts from 11,018 ft (3,358 m) summit of Red Mountain Pass on U.S. Highway 550 (between Ouray and Silverton) to Telluride, Colorado. The road crests at Black Bear Pass, elevation 12,840 feet (3,910 m), and descends over a set of infamous switchbacks as it navigates the heights above Telluride. The road passes Bridal Veil Falls, the highest waterfall in Colorado

MJ….I really enjoyed your complete trail video. The cameras were very clear and good internal stabilization. Nice to see what the road is really like. About the group of Jeep’s ahead of you, I think you were a complete gentleman…..you did not ride their ass. I would be very upset too. It made me mad just watching this that people can be so selfish. I see they were from Texas (don’t mess with Texas) attitude I guess. As far as Travis comment below, it’s not “let people do their thing”! I see Travis only has city stuff on his channel. People in the country basically have the attitude of being courteous and helpful. This group from Texas were certainly not that way. They had many opportunities to pull over to let you pass and even when they stopped at the falls that IDIOT still parked his jeep in the middle of the road. How RUDE! You had every right to be irritated. I subscribed to your channel. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome video—thanks so much for posting! I know my lifted FJ will do this just fine, but I would still love to know what the "tallest" step is in terms of hight, and then what the average step is in terms of height (like, what's the length in inches of the drop of the step?) Also, it looks like the road crew built a step at the gateway up to Bridal Veil so as to keep out the riff raff.. lol! Anyway.. many thanks in advance for the additional beta!

Was out there at the end of July this year but didn't take black bear as it was my first time off roading and also dont think a Gladiator would be good for those switchbacks by Ingram falls lol. I did take imogene though and can't wait to earn the badge for Black Bear in the future. Great video! Thanks for sharing

I cant believe those people would just park right there, ON the trail at the Falls, that's just asking for problems. Nothing wrong with stopping there and enjoying the scenery, some food, or whatever. However pull off to the side near the falls so people can continue down the trail, instead of making an already sketchy narrow trail even more so.
