MTA unveils next generation of NYC subway cars

Looks like this train was designed about 30 years ago? Or have these old trains been renovated?

At least they're replacing the older trains. It might not look cutting edge or as fast as other trains in China or Japan, but it's better than nothing.

These cars are evolutionary, not revolutionary. They're highly based off the existing so called "new tech" cars that are about 20 years old now. Each car has wider doors. These are about as wide as you can get as the side windows are now pathetically small. The interior looks familiar as well. There are some nice enhancements. The biggest thing is CBTC and the ones with open gangplanks. Otherwise, they're the latest "new tech" cars.
