The smallest one in rain or shine was the fearless Madeline (Hatty Jones), and she is the heroine of this family comedy based on Ludwig Bemelmans' classic book series about a Parisian schoolgirl and her classmates.

This movie is wholesome to me, why? Because I had my appendix removed too at the same age as she was. So growing up with a movie that showed the same pain I experienced felt some sort of comfort to me. I know there are a lot of kids out there that might think is only me so to know that you’re not the only one felt nice in a way. It just proves that us kids are stronger and braver than we think. Believe that “l can do anything” has great significance to me🩷

When I was nine, I was sent to hospital for a ruptured ovarian cyst. I remember being in a lot of pain, being very sick and very scared, but when I went on the operating table, I remembered this scene and repeated to myself: "I can do anything."

My youngest was a fan of all things Madeleine when she was small. The books, the cartoon, this movie. She even had a Madeleine doll. Good times good times

same thing happened with my cousin at the reunion, context my family is massive and we stay at these massive cabins, at 2 am i woke up to the sound of my cousin whimpering in pain, i turned on my flashlight and went to her, i was about four at the time and i knew i needed my mom, i remember opening the door and running out with my sister behind me (3 at the time) my twin toddler cousins (2) and my cousin craig (also 4), i remember throwing the door to my moms room open and shouting "Victoria's sick momma!"

Wow. This is the first time ever watching this. I haven’t even seen the movie. The only show I saw was the one I grew up watching on treehouse for little kids still not sure how to react lol but thank you for this and I appreciate it.

I recall in 2019 I had an appendicitis scare which caused me to go to the ER at Unity over in Rochester, NY when my doctor suspected it was appendicitis. I had to go and get a CT scan to determine if I had appendicitis...thank Gallium I didn't. If I do have appendicitis and it's not a false alarm, I'll think about when Madeline had her appendix removed. Ironically that same year (August of 2019 to be exact), my father had his gallbladder out.

That one part where she gets wheeled away and she starts to cry out and the one doctor can be seen stroking her head.

In the Middle of one night, Ms. Clavel turned on the light and said "Something is not right". Little Madeline sat in bed, cried and cried her eyes were red. And soon after Dr. Colin came he rushed up to the phone, he dialed ten dan ten six. "Nurse!" he said "It was an appendix!" Everybody had to cry not a single eye was dry. Madeline was in his arm with a blanket safe and warm. And the car of the red light driven out into the night.

Fun Fact:
In the book, all of the presents came from Madeline's papa.
So, at least one of her parents was still alive.
