I still say this is one of my favorite chase scenes in cinema. Mainly because the film's score really sells it.

Madeline and Pepito did not like each other in the beginning of the movie, but as time went by, they bonded with each other when they were kidnapped and became best friends.

I never noticed before how the one guy crosses himself at 2:12 when Leopold tells them she’s a nun!

And so, with the children brought back to their families, Leopold was subsequently found guilty and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

I love the moment where Ms Clavell closed her eyes & pointed up at the sky! Like, “God, you’d better tell me which way to go Right Now!!”

0:37 Narrator: The chase was on! Who would cross the finish line first? Or would somebody allow Madeline’s life to take a turn for the worse? Along with Pepito, whom by his tutor, had been deceived. Helping his family, he mistakingly believed.

I remember this scene very well because the people driving the truck call Pepito and Madeline spoiled brats after they kidnapped them at the circus, and yet Pepito and Madeline harness the bravery and energy to escape captivity by driving a Vespa motorcycle. When the car that the nun drives makes a sharp turn, the truck goes into the river, and Madeline and Pepito feel proud that they took down their captors.

This was my childhood film.

Leopold and the Idiots were pleaded guilty of kidnapping and child molestation and sentenced to life in prison.
