The first women is ignorant. Floods only happy in poor countries? She sounds beyond entitled. Surprise, surprise I thought my money would keep me from flooding.

I still remember lots of comments from 2 days ago mocking how the news over exaggerated this terrifying incident

Greetings from Germany. This is has not much to do with clima change. We have this every decade. Last time in 2013.
It's about
Destruction of natural retention areas (floodplains) Straightening rivers, channeling streams. And direct runoff of precipitation into the rivers (surface sealing of the soil)

This is unbelivable sad. I live here in the northern part of Germany near the danish border..and we have here now the best summertime weather, no rain, while just a few hundred kilometers away the people fighting for they're lives and homes. This is seriously bad

0:55 Poor or rich countries have nothing to do with flooding lady. Natural disasters happens because of the weather conditions and not economy.

Oh, this is taken just yards from my friends hotel, which is on the banks of the Rhine. I recall staying there in 1984 when there was bad flooding. This is definitely nastier. However over the generations that the family has owned the place, it has seen floods like this a fair number of times. So hope for the best this time too (the opening view over the Deutcher Ecke, the meeting point of the Mosel and the Rhine)

I’m from southwestern Germany as well and I’ve never experienced rain and hail of that intensity before. I‘m very glad I live in a village on a hill.

The lady at 0:55 learnt a lesson. Her rich pride is effected, more dan the devastation.

I cant imagine what these poor folk in this village are going through, I send a prayer for them.
These extreme weather patterns are becoming more common, this wont be the last tragedy Im afraid, climate change is happening and Im not sure if it can be changed, even if our leaders can find the political will it will take years to decide on what to do. RIP to the people lost during this tragic event!
