The kiss/goodbye sequence that begins at :57 is a tour-de-force of cinematic synergy. Two incredible performances, masterful lighting/camera work/camera move, perfect music. Done with only three set-ups. The pull back master to the beginning of the kiss. Close of the kiss becomes the over of Olga to her lay down and to sleep. Then the turn-around single of Tom. Gorgeous work. I wish I had done it. ;-)

A real treat is selecting the stand-alone M83 5.1 Dolby True HD score from the Blu-ray extras menu. Watching without the dialog is powerful because without that, we study their eyes for the context and emotion. Also watch the preceding scene at the painting with just the music. No need to hear their lines in that to understand how Julia is moved by the painting, and Jack's awareness of her feelings about it. It makes the revealed gift later all the more powerful.

An incredible track by M83 called "I'm Sending You Away" The version in the film is even better and one of the best things you can every play on a sound system. The use of the base when they kiss is just amazing.

Every time I watch this scene a tear slides down my face. The combination of the clip and the song is so mesmerizing and touching...
