Five number summary | Unit 3 and 4 VCE Further Maths

This video covers content which is part of the Data Analysis Area of Study in the VCE Further Mathematics course.

This video introduces the five-number summary. The video includes:
🔸 Definition of the five-number summary: minimum, lower quartile, median, upper quartile and maximum values
🔸 Calculation of the five-number summary from a list of data, a frequency table, a bar chart, a dot plot, or a stem plot.
🔸 Calculation of the range and interquartile range

My class uses the Cambridge Senior Mathematics textbook for Units 3 and 4 Further Mathematics for the Australian Curriculum / VCE. Some of the examples used in this video may have come from the MathsQuest 12 Further Mathematics textbook, published by Jacaranda.
