Why Clone Troopers HATED Mandalorians

Did you know that most Clone Troopers absolutely hated Mandalorians? Despite literally being Cloned from the Mandalorian Jango Fett, most clones felt a deep mistrust or even hatred for the Mandalorians. Of course, the most obvious reason why was because Jango worked for the separatists, the GAR's primary enemies. But the reasons go much deeper than that. Before the Clone Wars, a clone named Spar was left not only with the genetics of Jango Fett, but all his memories. He left the GAR and forged his own path in the galaxy. He would eventually go on to proclaim himself Mandalore the Resurector and led his sect of Manfdalorians against the Republic. He even led CIS forces against Kamino itself, leading to deep resentment for the Mandalorian culture among the Clones.

I mean Mandalorians have a long, LONG record of warring with the Republic and the Jedi. They even allied with the Sith more than once.

The hatred was mutual. Wild bcuz my favorites are the Mandalorians and the Clones.

That’s interesting that spar turned against the republic, and the entire grand army of the republic took that personally

It’s very interesting that the Jedi was not suspicious of the clone army when they knew Jango Fett was the donor who was revealed to be working for the Separatists. Also Jango Fett’s history is interesting because he didn’t grow up on the planet Mandalore but was from Concord Dawn which was a rural planet within Mandalorian Space. This is probably why Prime Minister Almec denied that Jango Fett was Mandalorian.

Null Arc Troopers: “we were trained by Kal Skirata, follow mandolorian culture and even have mandolorian names. We hate the Alphas because they are slaves as the rest of regs”
Alpha Arc Troopers: “we only follow Jango Fett’s orders, we are prideful of belonging to the greatest army the galaxy has ever seen. We hate the Nulls because they are selfish and out of control!”

There’s other reasons to that too. The rank and file trooper wasn’t trained by Mandalorians. They’re training was often overseen by other species. The ARC trooper and Commando training was overseen by Mandalorians (mostly) with the ARC Alphas all being directly trained by Jango. The clones trained by Mandalorians began to learn of Mandalorian culture and were generally seen as cultists to those clones who were trained by other species. The resentment was furthered when Mandalorians started appearing in the Separatists ranks.

You can tell in the last clone wars season when they fought to take Mandolore back from Maul the clones seemed at ease fighting alongside troops that possessed the same skill set/training they possessed. Compared to how it was said they usually hated fighting alongside local native forces seeing said allies to be a hindrance and liability on the battlefield.

How the fact that one of Dooku's busimess partners was the source for the clone army didn't raise amy alarm bells is beyond me.

I thought clones had some Mandalorian instructors and that they even knew their language.

It's crazy, especially considering at least 3 clones had Jag eyes, which is a Mandalorian honour.

It felt like the fight between the Clones and Darth Maul's Mandalorians felt kinda "personal" when they started going hand to hand on that bridge scene 😅

Though this isn’t the case for all clones, as some of the first batches (deemed too independent for use) even called themselves mandalorians after being adopted and trained by a mandalorian (rather than being terminated).

Mandalorians and Clones are so cool. I like both because of their armor designs and how badass they are.

Which is crazy tho, becuz multiple clone units participated in Mandalorian war chants. That's talked about in a few books. And the Commandos were trained by Mandos, so they all regularly included Mando'a in their vocabulary

The clone who had Jango Fett’s memories? Why wasn’t he given to Boba? 😂

So we are just going to ignore the whole Kue’val’dar thing? And the fact Clones wide-spreadingly used words and phrases from mando’a in their daily language?

the clone army theme, vode an, is literally mandolorian. Also, many of the bounty hunters who trained the clones were mandolorian, and their clones look up to them as parental figures. Also, although this is legends, HAVE YOU READ THE REPUBLIC COMMANDO BOOKS? Kal Skirata? He cared for the clones more than almost anyone else, and delta squad loved Kal as well. Sure some clones disliked mandolorians, but the vast majority of them didn’t. They even used mondalorian curses, Di’kut.
