My son is Autistic and has ADHD. I refused to put him on ANY medication for his 'issues'. That was 16 years ago. He's 21 years old now and a very happy and healthy young man.
He had loads of problems in public school, so I homeschooled him. I started taking him to the local state park to play every pretty day when he was little. As he started getting older, we started walking the trails. We also walk our dogs & go fishing. This has become 'our' time together even to this day. We go to the lake and we travel for vacations. I honestly believe if I'd put him on those dangerous meds, he wouldn't be anything like he is now. I know some people have to have those meds. I was told my son did. They were dead wrong. Please be careful about what meds you give your children.

I started taking Adderall when i was 32. I quit smoking, started running 5k races, got a new job, started making more money... Aderall changed my life.

Amen! Ive been saying this for years! I grew up watching all my friends getting put on these drugs and it would ruin their lives! I’m so grateful that my parents didn’t buy into it.

I’m 50. I tried it a few years back and it really slowed me down and made me concentrate. I despise speed. I guess I’m one of the few that it really helped. I do flooring and just say I have 3 bathroom floors to install. I would start all 3 instead of doing one until complete. I was all over the place. I tried adderall from my doctor and it slowed me down big time. I’m not an advocate for it because I know many people that abuse it but it really helped. I stopped taking it because of the stigma of it. But it worked while taking it as prescribed. Same thing with pain medication. The people that actually need it can’t get it because of the abuse. Now they look to the streets and get no telling what. At least with pills, people knew what they were getting. Feel bad for people that actually need proper medication
