I had a visitor today. Bryce stopped in to show me his 1965 Fender Musicmaster II. It was taken to Al at Arc Guitars in Winters, CA for repair and a setup. It plays and looks like it came out of a time capsule.

Cindy I enjoyed this so much I had to watch it 3 times and still didn’t get enough. I hope you will do it again. Love both guitars. Every time I see you all with a different guitar it makes me want to get one. At the end of the video I loved it when you rocked on. I saw you as a young teenager rocking! I know cause I was there as a teenager. I would love to see you all playing at church!

Hi Cindy..happy New Year 🎉
Awesome to see you playing with your nephew 👏 I have my son and grandson over every Friday for breakfast together and we play our guitars together for a good 3 hrs min 🥰🥰 great memories in the making for sure 👍 my grandson plays electric..acoustic..guitars plus drums very well and right and records his own music which is awesome .. I’ve only been playing for about 6 years this time but have tried to learn a few times before and son plays bass .. he’s only been playing for above 28months but already very good 🎉 sorry to boast it’s just I feel so lucky to have this experience with my boys and want to tell everyone ❤
P.s no Christmas card or sticker yet .. you showed my card on your YouTube.. I’m in Australia.

It’s back! I’ve been sick this week, so I’ve been offline a bit. What a way to return and find the Fender back in great shape. It sounds marvelously magical! Take care of that thing by making sure to regularly clean and condition it with each string change, so you’ll have the guitar for many years to come. Above all, don’t ever sell that guitar, Bryce. It’s tempting to sell vintage instruments that are in such great condition, but it’s meant to be played and enjoyed by a talented player like yourself. It’s a beautiful instrument that you’ve inherited and is part of your family’s story, so to speak. Maybe someone else in your family will inherit this guitar many years from now and cherish it as much as you do.

Also, way to rock out at the end there, Cindy! 🤘🏻😎🎸 I know we love acoustics best here at GNN, but it’s fun to explore the electric world too.

I would love to see you get an electric guitar to learn how to refine your bends and other electric techniques like pinch harmonics (if you can help me learn how to do one of those successfully, you will win a prize!). It could occasionally make for some fun and interesting lessons watching you learn skills you’re not as versed at doing on guitar. It would probably be fun for you too . . . I mean, who doesn’t love to rock out every so often?! Your face lit up because it’s just fun to let those power chords rip and get a case of the bends (not THOSE bends 🤣🤣🤣).

I also think it makes us better on acoustic when we try other types of instruments. For instance, trying to learn to play a ukulele with just four strings helped me when I was at a roadblock with getting started on basic finger style for acoustic guitar. In a matter of days, I was doing basic patterns on the uke. When I got the hang of it and felt consistent and comfortable, I moved those same basic finger style patterns to my guitar. Playing on electric guitar taught me a lot about tone shaping on acoustic guitars. I am learning a lot about rhythm and staying on track with guitar from using an old conga drum I found lying around from college that I’ve been using with a metronome or guitar tracks I’ve recorded to video. Might be fun to watch you explore electric guitar, bass, uke, try to pick up the violin again, etc. There’s a lot we can learn for ourselves and also bring some of those lessons into elevating our acoustic guitar skills! I’ve seen other right handed guitars YouTubers who’ve been playing for decades try to learn how to play as left handed players from scratch to improve their perspective of beginners as teachers.

My suggestion of playing other instruments is like a take on that left-handed approach, I guess. Maybe you can do this as special content for the paying members and occasionally share a few videos with everyone. For instance, you can do an ongoing electric guitar series called “Cindy Rocks!” or “She’s Electric!” 😂😂😂 Have a fun name per instrument, lol. Then each lesson or series will somehow tie back to acoustic guitars. Each instrument can explore techniques, tones, equipment, theory, teaching/learning pedagogy to make ourselves better teachers and students, and so many other possibilities.

I've collected a number of acoustics from the Japanese made Fender F-Series from the 70's. One of them came with the same iconic Fender strap only it was so old it was stiff as a board. I actually brought it back to life by running it through a cycle in the washer with some towels.

Awesome playing. Had the same color and vintage Fender Mustang as a kid, rocking my bedroom. Wish I had kept it. Anyway, really enjoyed hearing you two play together. And my, that was a perfect tone from that Kemper. Cindy, I love all the rhythms you play, bossa nova like, I would love to learn how to play them in more detail. I’m a slow learner regarding rhythm.
