Is it possible to implement some type of resize/crop plugin so users can edit photos before uploading? From what I can tell firebase hosting isn't set up for PHP - which is the language I would do this normally.

#AskFirebase Right now, one can send notification with payload using only the Firebase console to get the analytics on it. Is there an API to do the same. I want to send automated notifications to app users. Doing this from console won't scale.

David, for the 3rd question regarding complex queries, that blog post is so old and doesn't address a workaround for a simple wildcard search (WHERE foo LIKE '%bar%')...i'm trying to finish an autocomplete search bar and i'm not sure it will be do-able :(

#AskFirebase if I have 'setPersistenceEnabled(true)' and/or 'keepSynced(true)' then, every time I run a query, will it run on the offline database or the online database (considering the mobile phone is having an active connection to the internet)?

I am asking this question because my online DB is fairly huge and I dont want all the data to be fetched every time a query is fired.

I have seen a firebase video about this type of advertisement (new type of ad which matches the content style) but can you guys show how admob can be integrated with recyclerview items (advertisement as one of the entry)- please show in detail

#AskFirebase If I would build an app where I can send messages to nearby users, I would have something like this in my database: {"messages": [ {"text": "Tjoho!", "sender": "Me ofc", "pos": { "lat": 123, "long": 123} } ] }. Wouldn't it be very bad because ALL users would have to download the JSON for every message sent and then only display it if it's sent from nearby. How should I do this instead? Or is it OK to do it like this and doesn't use much 4G (thinking about the users not at home)?

How can I relate FireBase Database Information when making FireBase Storage Rules, for example:

I want a specific user to send an image only if that person is added as a friend (that rule is on the Firebase Database Rules) to the other user, i need to check this relation before uploading the image on the Firebase Storage.
