One thing to do is not take the old Nimitz aircraft carriers and decommission them I would refurbish them for another 20 years takes too long to build them and only a couple years to refuel them they may be old but they're still usable

The US nuclear carriers has no issues with the power plant - the only limitation is the amount of food on board for the sailors!!!
Besides, China has zero experience operating an aircraft carrier in combat! That has yet to be seen while the US has decades of experience operating carriers in war zones!!!!
