I feel so bad for the flight crews that face individuals like this. It's not right. Flight Attendants work so hard to ensure your safety, and it's just not right to treat them so badly. I always thank them when I fly!

This ish is totally out of hand. Unruly passengers should be hit with a felony, heavy fine, and ban from airline. Period. No mercy.

They should foot the entire bill to cover the cost of rerouting. Add this to every ticket contract and make sure passengers is aware they will pay *very dearly for these behaviors. This should help cut down on these type of abuse.

This is the reason why I left commercial airlines and went to fly cargo. Boxes don't talk, although I once heard a box playing music. Sounded like a toy for toddlers.

The local sheriff has nothing to do with filing charges, assaulting or intimidating a flight attendant is a federal offence. Assaulting a crewmember is punishable by up to 20 years' imprisonment, and a fine of up to $250, 000. The maximum civil penalty for interfering with a crewmember is a fine of up to $25, 000. Hope those two get the maximum punishment.

The amount of money the airlines lose because of these types of people. Besides the inconvenience to the passengers. Whenever a plane is forced to land they should be fined and black listed from every airline.

I think that if you do this it is a flight ban for all US airlines for 5 years (1st offense), 2nd 10 years, 3rd life. With almost zero consequences, these things are becoming more prevalent.

We should ask our representatives to create a federal unruly passenger registry, publicly broadcast, to go along with the sex offender registry.

I'm a nurse and deal with this behavior all the time from patients. Wish the hospital would handle them the same as they do on the airlines.

They (and anyone else who causes a return to the airport because of behavioral issues) should also be charged $$ for the time and fuel it required to bring them back and discharge them from the aircraft. Make this a serious hit to their wallet as well as a loss of flying privileges on all domestic carriers.

airlines need a law where if you get booted from the plane you are on a no fly list for up to 3 years for your first offense and permanent for the 2nd.

I propose: No Fly List and a ban from all terminals nationwide for one year…along with coupons for car rental agencies.
