Heal Through Songs : Vesper 1: Surrender

What is a vesper?
A vesper is a prayer around sunset. In Latin, vesper, means "evening" (Greek ἑσπέρα).
Yiya writes these vespers as a spiritual and therapeutic act of processing her inner suppressed feelings and releasing emotions sonically to a higher power beyond humanity ( some call Creator, God, Allah, Universe, etc).

How can we collectively heal through songs? Yiya hopes her songs act as a comforting balm on a burn /wound or as a holding space for the tears of suffering sisters and brothers who are desperate to find belonging.

May you find a way to allow your body to finally release both its inner toxicity ( shame, guilt, unforgiveness, resentment, anger, bitterness, pride, perfectionism, etc) and true deepest earnings and hopes and dreams.

In your darkest hour, may you find healing through music and songwriting, art and poetry, movement and dance, etc. Whether you are religious or not, there is a hunger in our heart and soul to connect to something beyond us, a sacred source of Love, Light, Truth and Beauty.
