It's great that NIO vehicles still have charging port because I'm a person that depends on charging. The only thing that I love about batteries swap is when the batteries degrades or it have a broken sell I can swap it in 10 minutes with out the need of service center & manpower cost!

Apparently 80 percent of Nio Customers chose a Nio because a Nio has the additional battery swap option.
Nio is also playing in the higher end market sector.
Customers who buy Nio will have often test driven BMW, Merc, Audi etc.

Who worries about battery degradation when you can get a new battery any time you want. It inspires confidence. I wish I could do this with my cellphone now and then..

Sam, is it possible to analyze the effects of the charging time to the whole traffic system ? is the charging time some kind of buffer to the road traffic ? if the charging time is too short, short enough to let more cars drive to the road, then the buffer will lose it's function ? of course if there is less cars in the world the problem is not that i think, at the present stage, the number of stations that hold number of cars (in the buffer), is an important part of the whole system.

That's almost as bad as saying that Rivian is worth more than BYD. Only people basing their decisions purely on emotions will come to these conclusions. BYD is the clear leader based on the facts.

i have a question, about the compensation of a damaged battery. is it just like a game, passing a battery to the next user, but during the passing, the battery becoming easier to be damaged, so if, when it is my turn of using it, it suddenly dies, then i have to take care of it ? will it become a situation, i buy a EV, i paid the issuance, then if i use swap method, i have to pay some issuance for this changing batteries service ??? or, the service company will take care of the issuance, and i have to pay a higher service charge ? etc etc

unless NIO can ramp up production and export, I doubt NIO can worth more than BYD. But NIO do has better brand marketing and slicker car. BYD more like a car produced for mass market.

NIO shall design batteries swap that easy to use that can install at gas stations.
Use empty car batteries act as Energy storage replace Energy storage sit at Solar farm.

NIO will have around 700 swap stations in China by end of 2021. Sooner or later we will hear about other ev makers partnering to use NIO swap stations.

I think they were talking about the brand being more valuable, not the intrinsic value of BYD and NIO. Everyone knows NIO is a new company and BYD is a behemoth. The JAC plant will be able to produce 300, 000 cars with a double shift. NEO PARK just finished phase one of their million car a year facility and will be able to produce 300, 000 cars a year. That gives NIO the ability to build 600, 000 cars a year after the middle of next year. NIO has started installing their tooling, robots etc. into NEO PARK. Some pictures of the new ET5 in camo. has surfaced which is more of a competitor to the model 3/y.

Difference being, NIO is traded there on the US market where things are overly irrational now with the amount of cash the US govt has printed. Someone will get hurt at some point.

No structural pack (negative mass) with batt swap architecture. Also 16 superchargers at ~30 mins to charge = 1.9 minute throughput. But for buses and class 8 trucks maybe this could work?

One huge negative to NIO no one talks about. In order to stave off bankruptcy, NIO partnered with Anhui province government. They are building NEO park there. Anhui is like the Nebraska of China. There’s a reason Tesla is in Austin, Texas instead of Omaha, Nebraska. NIO was essentially forced into Hefei.

Would you invest in an Omaha tech company? Or one in Silicon Valley, which is the equivalent region where Xpeng and BYD is located?
