There's always something about the "Hard boss fight that's the protagonist from a former game" thing that just GETS me. It's such a cool feeling!

I'm not ashamed to say this fight actually gave me anxiety. I was legitimately crying during it.

In the ending, I was more disturbed than pleased.
Yet, now that I look back, this was one of the best things to happen to the series.

I like to imagine that when tartar switched back to his regular voice it's just because he's fed up with talking like that. Also, tartar? I kinda understand your complaints about the new lifeforms... I juuuust can't help but feel that your creators weren't all that much

So, what I've gathered from the final part of Octo Expansion is that (major spoilers)








the Crazy Telephone took control of Agent 3. Then after that failed due to one epic pre-final boss, the Crazy Telephone takes its true form, Commander Tartar. Assuming control of the remains of the giant human statue left behind by mankind, he reveals his plan was to -show the world the power of blenders, seriously he has too many of those things- use data from test subjects and their DNA in order to create the ultimate species his creator invisioned by blasting Inkopolis apart in a style similar to DK64. A combination of Marina's quick thinking, Agent 8's co-operation and Pearl's ultimate battle cry of doom (which also obliterated all Pearl haters) took down the massive statue. What a thrilling conclusion and much more climactic than the normal hero mode ending.

Even though most of the bosses are reskins (aside from the last one), they made them challenging enough to feel like they’re not complete clones! That’s what I like to see in DLC like this.
