If you have to ask why tinnitus is a problem, you need only crank up an audio amplifier connected to some loud speakers and then reproduce a 15000 hz sound all day every day at high volume. You can still communicate with others while it is happening, but it requires you to focus and concentrate on every sound outside of the tinnitus frequency to figure out what is being said. It makes sleeping almost impossible and it that affects your every day. I drink lots of beer or wine to push me over the top and sleep. I also put ear buds on and listen to something from the internet to distract me when sleeping. I have yet to see anything that does more than mask the incessant noise always blasting away in my ears. If you don't know, trust me, you don't want to know.

Dr. Ben, thank you for sharing these inspiring success stories. It is true that no 2 cases are the same, so we all must work toward our own solutions with appropriate resources and assistance.

I would be more encouraged to hear about success stories on cases where someone had a year to several years severe tinnitus or reactive tinnitus & hyperacusis due to acoustic trauma either from one bad event or collectively from many years of being exposed to loud noise which also revealed on testing high frequency hearing loss, not due to age however.

I discovered your channel only last month. I’m 44yrs old and have had tinnitus since childhood. I used to think it was normal until my teenage years. I lived with it but as years went by it has worsened for several reasons. Tests done shows that my hearing and ears are fine. For the past 3 months or more it’s at its absolute worst. This video had me crying and gives me hope. I’ll definitely start using your suggested methods.

Dr. Thompson,
My tinnitus started the same day that I received my first Covid vaccine in April.

I've had left ear tinnitus (medium pitched tone) since October 2020 after a weekend of loud noise exposure. Over the years, I did go a little nuts with headphones. My right ear feels nice and hollow, but my left ear feels like there's some pressure and blockage in addition to the tone. I also have sound sensitivity. My ENT said there's an 85% chance it will go away within 6 months - he didn't really do any tests. It's been 9 months and I still have it. My audiologist reported no hearing loss and no damage to the middle ear. I don't get dizzy or vertigo. At night when it's quiet, I get an additional high pitched cicada-like sound that sounds like it's coming from both ears but it's hard to say - this doesn't bother me that much. I haven't had an MRI because my ENT and GP said it's not necessary, but now I'm starting to think otherwise. I can kind of change the severity of the tone by inserting my finger into the ear and using my other hand to wiggle my ear around. Could it be cancer? Infection? Fluid build up? I've had my ears cleared of wax. Although I started noticing this two days after my loud noise exposure in October, I'm starting to think that the timing of it could have just been a coincidence. I had a negative Covid test yesterday. I'm thinking of trying an ear popper, sinus rinse, and ear candling.

What do you think Dr Thompson? Regards, Nicholas

I am discovering my tinnitus is hugely connected with my sleep. If i have a good solid 6 hours of sleep my ears are quite. If i wake up i can't go back to sleep because i get a spike. Reiki, meditation has helped a lot. Mindset of not letting this noise take over your life helps. Its been an 8 month long journey to get here and still working on it.

Good Morning Dr. Ben from Canada. I have developed severe tinnitus mostly in my left ear but sometime it's in my whole head. It is a very high pitched squeeling where I think I am going to loose my mind. If effect my everyday life. I am on the verge of tears most of the time. I have had some hearing loss in my left ear and also fell pretty hard on some ice really whacking my head. Although I didn't have a concussion and think the tinnitus is the result of my fall plus I have vertigo off and on. I feel like I am going to loose my mind. I sleep with a headband with speakers in it but it was so loud last night that even that didn't help. Listening to your video's does give me hope. I have never meditated before so will have to try that. Right now it is so bad!!! I can't imagine living with this.

Hi Dr. Ben. I am excited to have some comfort and lessoning of tinnitus noise using the Mid range soother 5500 Hz noise. I was using cricut sounds at night, and actually live where I can pop the window open and hear the cricuts sometimes. I am so glad that you are giving us all this knowledge for free. I am on a limited income and cannot afford the $250 per month for your therapy services. Thank you so much for your time and effort, almost a miracle worker! Thank Dale Snale for me as well!! David

Dr Ben I live in Jamaica and I developed tinnitus after several ear infections and stupidly I went on youtube and played a hearing test video (just to see if I had any loss of hearing) and a high piercing sound came out and damaged my ear. I've had this since the beginning of 2018 and it's been hell on earth. When I think about how I got it I get so upset that I did this to myself. I find myself looking up tinnitus cure and researching the clinical trials that are taking place. I am in my mid twenties and had it since my last year in university. I really hope there is a medication that can actually cure it. It's not fun living with a condition that robs you of your sanity.
