I have been looking for this pc for many years, and finally I was able to get it. However it broke during shipping. The seller had to remove 800 grams of foam, because the postal office refused to send it because of the weight.

I can relate. Lost a Presario 433 to shipping. It was totally obliterated and literally in a thousand pieces. You can bet that when I found a 425 on eBay, I paid over $100 for shipping. Shipping companies don't care anymore. I'm glad that there's at least some hope for yours! Sincerely hoping for the best, these really are fantastic computers.

By the way, make sure there aren't any cracks (especially ones that run over traces) on the monitor and power supply boards. Also make sure that the connector from the motherboard to the monitor is securely connected, and every wire from the little connector board in the front is connected. It almost seems like the monitor isn't getting any signal. Try looking at it in the dark and see you see the raster (faint glow) on the screen.

Also, 433 subscribers. Fitting! Hoping for the best and really sorry this happened.

Oof. I felt your disappointment right through my screen. Sucks to have looked forward to that and have it ruined like that. Hoping you get it up and running soon!

I genuinely hope you get the machine back in it's former glory.

Damn, that was painful to watch. I once found an immaculate 425 after years of looking, then UPS dropped it on my front porch and destroyed it. I just bought a 433 a few days ago and guess what? It also got damaged in shipping, although not too bad compared to the first one.

This is probably a longshot, but any chance you have the front CRT control board with the knobs and you are willing to sell it?

Oh man, that sucks big time!
I had the best results of fixing broken plastic parts with superglue for plastic and epoxy. Especially those stems for the screws will be happy about extra support with an epoxy layer.

I had UPS destroy my Power Mac 5400/160, there were tons of cracks and when i hooked it up to try to boot it, i heard it chime but nothing came up, i payed $199 plus $50 shipping, i complained to the seller about UPS ruining my vintage Mac and i got a refund, that was a bummer, F#%@ UPS, why are so many CRT based computers getting broken in transit, i got a Power Mac 6500 that was sold for parts that was missing the logic board for $59 with free shipping so i could see if the logic board worked, and it did. the HDD from the 5400/160 had Mac OS 8.5 installed on it.
