Ten traits startups need to get funded.

The competition for startup funding is fierce. Consider that a venture capitalist or angel investor will invest in one startup for every 100 face to face meetings they take.

So you need to have just about everything right in order to give yourself the best chance of raising funding. That’s what today’s video is all about.

I share with you, based on my experience, the ten traits you’ll need to get your startup funded, why each trait is important, and what you should do if you don’t have a given trait.

Thank you Mr. Brett for your response and advice on my last comments!

I have another question after watching this video:

How many shares should we give to investors in exchange for $4-5 million in seed round - hardware?

We are looking for a win-win situation - with the future of the company and capital for the next rounds of financing in mind.

Our competition raised $6 million in the seed round (we don't know the percentage), and in round A they raised $50 million in exchange for 10%.

I assume that a big part of the “selling” part raising is demonstrating to investors that you’ll be able to sell successfully to other investors for later rounds. Is that right?
