I usually leave the sewing machine needle down into the fabric when I pull the pins out. It helps to keep the fabric in place.

The sewing part is the easiest part of doing this and that’s all this video covers, really. It totally skipped how to cut and align the two pieces of fabric. Not a very good video, unfortunately.
