Lesley Gore - It's My Party (Music Video)

60 years ago today, on March 30, 1963, Lesley Gore recorded "It's My Party" at Bell Sound Studios in New York City. "We went into the studio at two o'clock in the afternoon, and came out at five o'clock, on budget, on time, with three songs cut and mixed." Rush-released three days later on April 2, "It's My Party" exploded onto the charts, and by June 1, the song was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Great Quincy Jones early 60s record. I think that he had already transitioned fully from Jazz to Pop by this time. 1963? That man knew how to produce smash #1 hits! Leslie had a great voice for it.
